The one that immediately comes to mind is made by Chompers:

A little bit cheaper. In terms of quality, I cannot comment because I have never tried them before. Can someone who has fished with them share their thoughts?

i've fished both.

Yamamoto worth the extra money.... IMO

Chompers just didn't have the action...again.. IMO

The Yamamoto hula grub is one of my go to baits.... I like it on a bare football jig as you mentioned..as well as texas rigged.

Keitech seems to have discontinued thers, but they were EXTREMELY DURABLE.

My best to date have been the Yamamoto Hulas for action and catch rate, and I have tried a lot of the knockoffs .

Been fishing the Yamamotos for nearly 20 years now.

I like Yums pretty well, they just don't come in very many different colors if you're looking for a specific one.

mostly darker colors

Gotta go with the yammi, color 200 clear with bronze flake is the way to go. It's worth the money!

try gander mountains. they are the cheapest and free shipping to boot! the action is just okay however, but is also scented. its weird, it says your ordering gander mountains brand but they sent me big bite baits.

Those Yammi guys are pretty smart, tried find if I could buy em like in a 50 or 100 count NO WAY, they are gd, but I've also done pretty well with chompers as well. gonna try some of them Damiki aero craws. Any of you ever use em?

Great bait! I don't bed fish unless fishing a tournament, but I would assume they would be excellent. I use them in colder weather and slowly drag them along on a sled head jig.

Been using GYCB hula grubs for quite a while. I've tried others, and always went back to GYCB.

One of my go-to rigs is a 5" GYCB hula grub on an Evo Shaky2 jighead. I almost always have this tied on one rod ready to go.

Try Overstock. They occasionally have GYCB baits. I scored a bunch of 5" and 6" hula grubs last year from them.

Yamamoto and keitech are go to's. I've also been trying some hand pours from different guys, nice stuff also. Keitechs are by far the most durable.

Thats because they are made by Big Bite for Gander Mountain, just like many other "manufacturers." Northlands "new" line of bass baits are just Big Bites stuff repackaged, and many use their 5" stick worms repackaged as well.
