I was supposed to be working up in Florence Al. today. My boss changed his mind right as I was leaving the shop and kept me in B'Ham instead. They got hit up there around the time I would have been getting there.

Thus far all we have had is some golfball size ice falling from the sky. We've been pretty lucky as of now.

Hunker down man, and stay close to your safe place. Looks like it's going to be a long night for B'ham.

Well that was thankfully uneventful for us. Hopefully everyone else fared as well as we did.

Everything's all good in my immediate area. It sounds like a twister touched down a bit north and west of us, which is more in Randall's general direction. Hopefully he'll chime in here too.

Thanks for the concern.

It touch down an hour from us and we had warnings all night, but never touch down here. Reminds me of living in Tuscaloosa County. lol.

A little town about 30 miles from me called West Liberty got hit hard. It's been on The Weather Channel a lot if anyone's been watching. Now they're calling for falling temps and maybe an inch or two of snow tonight. Lots of folks having it rough right now.

I live in Salyersville, KY which got absolutely leveled in some places. At 6:45 pm Friday evening the police was out telling everyone to find a safe place. The tornado came through at exactly 7 pm. It missed my house and neighborhood by less than 1/4 mile. My family and neighbors took refuge in the basement just before it came through. It really did sound like a freight train just as people say and I felt the pressure from the tornado in my ears and chest. I only heard and felt the tornado for about 10 seconds. The power and cell signal failed right after the storm passed so we had no way to track following storms. We all stayed in the basement for about 45 minutes after the storm passed.

The next day my fishing buddy and I drove around the town to his aunts house which was almost completely gone. The entire neighborhood they were in was completely flattened and unrecognizable. We saw trailers and houses that were just crushed and scattered through the hills. My wife and I only have to deal with the inconvenience of not having electricity but so many of my neighbors have lost everything.

You guys be sure to keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers. They sure need it.

Tom,

Very glad to hear you're ok. You're all in our prayers.

I have a bad feeling about this tornado season. I think it will be another bad one.
