First time using a Senko

Featured Replies

I finally gave in. I always hear so much about these worms but I never used them. I have heard tons of mixed reviews...some good some bad.

Either way I decided to throw one for awhile today...I didn't catch anything but I only got to fish for about an hour and a half plus I am on a serious loosing streak.

Man that thing flys weightless. I have never used a worm that casts so far. I dont think I can even cast out a weighted t rigged worm that far.

So far I like them but thats not saying much cause i haven't caught anything on one yet! ;D

I also got some yamamoto tubes that I have yet to try.

Thought I'd share.

The smallies were slaying them this morning. Well, an *** Trick stick. Same exact thing but more durabe, and better on your wallet.

Check out the rate of fall if you haven't already. They fall slower than you think, at least slower than what I thought. Subtle twitches on the bottom seem to be most effective for me. Stay with it, you'll love them

My opinion on the senko is that its a great fishing tool, but can get very expensive if you rely on it for most of your fishing.  I started out fishing the senko worm about 2 years ago and the bait monkey really took control of my wallet then.  If you check into dicks sporting goods they have deals on senko once in a while.  I would suggest you buy the redshad color, and use size 4/0 ewg gamakatsu hook, or bass pro magna superlock if you want to save some money.  Make sure you use the texpose, no weight needed.  The fish will hit the senko on the fall most of the time, so watch your line!!! If you are not careful you can have alot of gut hooked fish, they love to swallow the thing ;D  If no takers on the fall, wait for about 5 seconds  before retrieving it, retrieve slow, mix in with a few twitches here and there.  When you feel the tap tap tap, or the line suddenly go lateral, set the hook hard!! Good luck, and keep your line tight :)

P.S If for some reason you decide to try some other product, I would suggest the Zoom Ol monster in watermelon color, cheap, work just as good and keep all those dinky fishes at bay  ;D

I noticed the slow fall...extremely great feature.

Hopefully I can snag a few fish tomorrow on them!

They are a bit pricey. I got the watermelon color hooked with a 4/0 gam.

I am huge line watcher...it is how i get most of my fish :)

I have fished tons of different worms and caught tons of bass on them but the nice slow fall of the senko might be key to getting a few more fish than usual. we will have to see.

Thanks for the tips.

Break, not trying to break your bank or anything and if you start getting some luck on them....

*.com has stickbaits just like the senko's for a heck of alot cheaper. The quality of these baits are second to none and right now their is a 20% discount on your order that is going to a charity. Just throwing that out their in these hard times, good luck!

The ***... $6 for 25! wow that is a fantastic deal!  they look almost identical to the senko too. If I end up having good luck with the ones I have I will be picking some of those up for sure.
