I am looking for a MH-H 6' spinning rod that I can throw soft plastics around docks - any suggestions?

To skip cast? Weighted plastics, T-rig?

I have a Shimano Clarus. That is 6' MH F. You may still be able to find one.

I fish docks a lot, for skipping weightless plastics under docks I have used many different rod lengths, 6'.....6'3"......6'6"......6'8"....and 7'. Didn't like the short one, or the long one, 6'8" worked but still a touch too long. 6'3" was my favorite length, but untill I find another 6'3" that I like, I am going to use a 6'6" and see how that goes. IMHO, I would not want a MH or H powered rod for that, a M power with a fast or XF action is what I like. I want a rod that loads a little with a weightless bait, I get much longer and more accurate skips with it. I skip with braid, no leader, I have zero issues with it. One thing that makes life easier is keeping the spinning reel spool filled as full as you can with out having the line jump off. Thats for spinning rods, what I look for in a dock fishing casting rod are almost totaly different.

Had a 30" fish with a 7' med star rod med spininng rod from under a dock flipping a bucktail yesterday, all you need.

St. Croix LTB Skippin' speciific rod. Med 5'6". A killer skippin rod. For alot less, the Shimano Clarus 6" Med. has just the right amount of tip flex to make it a great skippin' rod too.

I use a 6'8" mxf BPS Carbonlite for all my soft plastics except drop shots. I really like the x fast tip because it gives a little more power to drive the hook into a fish. My experience with weightless plastics has told me a medium heavy is usually too stiff and doesn't throw very well compared to a medium but your milage may vary.

Totally different. Completely and totally. I will guarantee you that you cannot put that bucktail where I can put a tube back under a dock and lift set with a 6-3 rod, it just doesn't work. I can skip a bait 20' in and into a shorestation by another 10 feet, where with a 7 foot rod, I can get it just to where I need the bait to roll out and skip the remainder of the way.

The rod I use is actually in St Croix's Legend Walleye run. 6-3 Medium Xfast. It's a stout rod with plenty of power and yet soft enough to get trajectory right to skip back in.

In those situations I can't skip it on my Pixy/6-2 Evergreen- The St Croix comes in to play.

I just gave my grandson the exact same rod, SJR722 GL3 and it is great for skipping. Another rod to look at is the Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 6'3" M-F, they also have a 6'3" MH-F but the medium is more versatile and I bet it would be a skipping machine!
