Try the H2O wake bait if you can get your hands on one. It's been a good one this year and the price cant be beat.

FBL, where do you get a H20 wake bait? I cannot find it listed anywhere. Who makes it and who sells it? I have never seen or heard of it.

H2O baits are made exclusively for Academy Sports retail stores. You have to have one of those in your area or find a board member with one near them that will help you out.

They pop up in the flea market from time to time and I have seen them on eBay as well.

I used bandits and LC wakebaits this year for smallies.  The LC RC 1.5 worked well for me.  I'd have to see what color it is, but don't think that is a major factor.

Deps Buzzjet Jr (Real Largemouth Bass)

I've done well with the Excalibur & the Lucky Craft RC. The Excalibur throws a big wake and has a loud rattle, great for stained & murky water or when fishing around heavy grass. The RC being jointed has a lot of tail action, and can also run a few inches below the surface if needed.

x2 I used one today. I had zero luck on it but it was bad conditions. They swim perfect, look good, and the one I was using was very loud and clacky. Sexy melon is the color. Great baits for the price.

I bought a lucky craft RC wake bait but it doesn't make a wake - tt just swims under the water.   :-/  I've had good luck on the Mann's Waker.  Make sure you replace the crappy hooks with quality trebels  8-)

Raise your rod tip to the 10-11 o'clock position and minimize the amount of line laying on the water.

I had the same problem with my RC wake bait.

That is what you should do with a Cordell Redfin to make it wake but not a $16 bait that is designed to be a wake bait.  But that being said, I have some Bandit Footlooses that wake without trying and others that I can't get to wake no matter what I do.  moloch and I must just gotten bum baits.

+1 on the Ima Roumba.  My favorite is bluegill or frog colored.  Mainly 'cuz they are pretty.  But the clear crawdad colored one produces best for me.

will ditto the bluegill roumba, as well.

the lc cb001 and the original storm subwarts are other excellent producers.
