Ultralight Reel Descicion

Featured Replies

Hey guys im wondering what reel i should get, ive narrowed it down to these two reels. The Shimano sienna and the Pflueger trion gx. They're both the same amount of money and hold about the same amount of line. Its just the specifics, I like how the pflueger looks more. The pflueger comes with an extra spool and the sienna doesnt. If anyone has used or tried either of these please give me input!

Thanks!

I'll assume you are looking at 1000 size reels. I have the Shimano Symetre 1000FJ's and HIGHLY RECOMEND it. The Abu 601 is another good one. They are on clearance @ ffo. I Just got a Daiwa Fuego 1500 that is like butter. All of these are on light or med light rods.

Me, too!

I have only used the Shimano Sahara 1000FD but I like it!

Well the Sienna, either 500 or 1000 are heavy, and just keep feeling heavier every minute their in my hand. still a good starter reel but the Trion just is better overall

Trion is a great reel for the money. I also have a 1000 Symetre, I wouldn't consider it ultralight but it is a great little reel. I have a couple of the Shimano Sedona 750's and they are great little reels for the money.
