We have had a couple of threads here about shaving and extending the life of your blades. I have been on the lookout for a couple of years on how to best do just that, extend the life of my razors. I usually get 3, maybe 4 good shaves before the blades start to hurt my face. I use a triple blade, disposable razor, not a cheapo, but not the best either. I have found the answer, at least for myself. I have now shaved with the same blade for over 3 months, thats around 50 shaves, and it is still smooth and close, not a nick to be seen on my face. I do the jeans trick he talks about, then I store it in a cup of rubbing alcohol to keep it from rusting. Check out the video and give it a try, and be dilligent, I'm sure it will work.

I tried storing mine in alcohol, the moisture strip melted. I wound up taking a 1in. wide by blade length chunk out of my head the next time I shaved with it.

the strip comes off mine too in Alcohol, I tried Hydrogen Peroxide and the worked a little.

Funny you mentioned razor blades. The wife and I were at BJs today and she needed to buy some. She was appalled at the price. The bulk pack that was about 23 bucks per had risen to 32 bucks per bulk pack.

Grow a beard. You'll only need to trim your neckline.

Can't grow one because of work, and it itchs like crazy! I use a Mach 3 and so does my wife so we only have to buy one kind of replacement blade. I can use the same one for a couple months at least but my facial hair doesn't grow in really quickly or really thick so it isn't having to work as hard for me as it probably would be for some of you guys. I think a 25 or 30 pack is around 40 dollars. Not really that bad considering how much a smaller pack costs.

After the last thread on this, I did a little research of my own. Since then I also have been doing the alcohol and jeans deal and it works. I been using the same Fusion blade for a couple of months. I don't store the blade in the alcohol, instead I rinse it off in the alcohol and let it air dry. (I keep a small covered container of alcohol in the head) And then before each use I buff it up on ther jeans. It's not magic - but it does work well. A blade will last you Waaaaaaaaaaaaay longer.

those electric shavers seem like they leave too much stubble, never was a fan of them. I usually just let my beard grow and grow and then shave it on impulse when i get tired of it. i use small trimmers/clippers and shave the bulk of the hair off, then go back and hit with a razor so its smooth and clean. Before i shaved last week and got a hair cut last weekend i was looking like a 'sasquatch lol

i never ever ever shaved my mustache off though, just trimmed it a little here and there....im afraid of what id look like without it =[
