I hate shopping there though. I can never find anyone for help. The store by me must use a skeleton crew. I wish there was a BPS near me.
No you dont I have a BPS twenty minutes away. That place is like a magnet for your hard earned money then they give you credit and the wife just screams its like it a mistress or something but im sure that would be cheaper.I hate shopping there though. your absolutely right. its corperate that decides what we sell in a storeI worked at one for ten years. This is true at least at the store I worked. The individual stores have very little control over what they stock.

Might be different for some stores, but mine was ran by a bunch of golfers. Only one of the 8 or so managers and supervisors ACTUALLY hunted or fished. But that was probably why that store was the District Managers favorite, because the management did so well to keep money for the company.

surprising. we would of sold it to you. the only we dont sell that are displays are treestands and grillsI hate gander mountain. I went in to one in to pick up a stradic fi1000 and they only jad the display. Looked it over and there wasnt anything wrong. Told the kid ill take it amd he turned around and said im sorry we dont have a box for it so i cant sell it. We can notify you if we get more in. I told him its discountinued and the new model was right next to it. He got his manager and he told me the same thing. I was astonished to say the least. I just laughed and said okay...havent been in to one since.

I'm glad I'm out of Gander. They have no interest in keeping knowledgeable, hard working employee's. They would rather be paying some kid with little to no experience in each section bottom dollar than let someone who knows the store inside and out and is worth a d**n when it comes to helping customers move up in pay scale.

A Manager's sole responsibility is to make money at his store so he can't be blamed for that. However, it is short sighted to let good people get away just to scrimp on payroll. You have to spend money to make money.

Yep. I was a very unappreciated employee. They'd notice any little thing I may have done wrong, but never notice how much I actually went above and beyond. And I had a pretty large return customer base from myself alone, a customer base that followed me to Bass Pro. They had to hire two people to replace me, and from what I've heard from the guys that still work there, they're looking for another one just to keep up with all the work I did for them. I worked fishing, firearms, receiving, and maintenance. Seems counter-intuitive to be paying 3 people a combined 24.50 hourly wage than to just bump me up into double digits alone.
