Made it to the State lake Today. The water temp was 64* and the bite is picking up a lot. I was there Monday? and the water temp was only 57 but I caught a few.

I took the Kayak back Today with 2 rods. Each had a 1/2oz Jig/Rage and I beat up on them pretty good. Nothing big all were 2-3 pounds & most were closer to 2 pounds . I know for a short while I was getting bit or catching a fish on almost every cast before they shut off!.

Which state lake is that? Sounds like a good time!
Is it spring yet??

It's just north of Lacygne.
A guy caught a 6 pounder fishing for Crappie while I was there, thankfully he forgot his stringer and it got put back.

Love that little lake. It's rough getting to but I think that keeps the pressure off the bass a little. Lots of healthy fish in that lake.

I'm definitley making the trip to Miami Co this season. Sounds like a goodn'

Got the boat out for the winter yesterday and drug it down to DGCO lake to see how things are coming along. Water surface temp was 56 there in the morning and 64 in spots in the afternoon. Couldnt believe it actually. Sonar was showing alot of fish on the bottom and some suspending around 15' with the vast majority clinging to primary points still, so I have a feeling the water below about 8 feet is still pretty cold.

Caught about a dozen dinks on a little bit of everthing, craw colored crankbait and carolina rigged plastics worked best. I amused myself for a bit trying to find a plastic in my box they wouldnt bite at. That game ended with a lot of chewed up plastic and tiny bass to show for it lol. I couldnt care, the first day in the sun after winter felt great.

Went to Miami state fishing lake today, and wacked the crap out of em. It was hard fishing in the wind, but still had a really great day. Oh, finally got the skunk out of the boat too! Most of the fish were dinks, but they sure were active. Would've been nice to run into that six pounder mentioned earlier. At any rate, here was the nicest fish of the day that I caught.

I went back to the state lake this morning. The morning started off slow. I had a Jig/Rage tied to both rods and for a while I thought I needed to be using something else. But they warmed up to the Jig after a while and it turned out to be a GREAT morning! In between the 2 pounders there were some nice fish.

I too went out to Miami on Saturday and my dad and I whacked um a lot of small fish but we managed some 2-4lbers my biggest being on one of my first hand tied jigs with a rage trailer. It was awesome to get out on the boat for the first time and catch a lot of fish.

Sheesh, congrats on the awesome catches at miami. I wish we could've got into some like that, and i'm sure we would've if we could've slowed down. The wind just prevented us from throwing anything than fast moving baits. Looks like I'm gonna have to get out there again if you pulled 4 pounders, and a 6 out of there!

Man, the fish are biting good at Miami and here I am with a broken down boat trailer :dazed-7: At least you guys are getting them. That 6.5 is the biggest fish I've heard of anyone catching out of there actually, very healthy looking fish!

Honestly the pic makes the fish look skinny, but it's OK because the pic makes me look skinny too! lol

I saw a fish jump the day I was there that looked to be around 8+ I am fairly sure it was a bass.
