  1. How often do you check the last four or five feet of your line for abrasions? How often do you retie? Have you considered using a landing net? Do you try to horse the fish in like some of the pros do? Do you play the fish out for a few seconds longer than you think is enough?
  2. To my knoledge there is no such thing as a spcific finesse rig. A finesse worm is just a downsized streight worm with less action and less vibration. I power fish my finesse worms with a 1/4oz Spot Remover Jig. I cast out to my target, hop it a few times and burn it back then repete. I cover as much water as I can and catch the mess out of fish. I fish it fast and slow on just about any type of rig. It is called a finesse worm just because it is smaller. There is not rule that says you have to fish it slow.
  3. nwgabassmaster, I'm sorry I wasn't very clear. I totally agree with you. I was talking about going strictly by the solunar tables was crap. They say the best time is when the moon is directly overhead and directly underneath you. This is to suggest that the gravitational change in the atmosphere effects the movement of wildlife. The only effect I have seen, like you said is caused by the amount of light available. If it is a very cloudy night during a full moon they won't be as active as if there were no clouds at all. I have always said the best time to go fishing or hunting is always when you can. Example: If there is a full moon out all night but in the last few hours of night a storm or heavy clouds move in. I make sure I am in my stand extra early that morning because the deer are stuck in their feeding areas or can't move as fast back to their bedding areas due to the lack of light. I will have a better chance of seeing that big buck moving during shooting hours.
  4. http://bassresource.com/fishing/seasonal.html#fall Here you go man. Start here.
  5. Oh the trash talk begins.
  6. Not a bad Idea. I often times use a Texas Rig at the bottom but I never thought of using a C-Rig.
  7. Is that the "Flippin and Pitchin to Heavy Hitters" DVD or is there another one? If it's this one than it's not the best for someone just wanting to know the basic technique. It doesn't cover it in very good detail.
  8. I think that a link to this post needs to be sent to the CEO of Lowrance.
  9. And here I have been trying to fish them like a fluke. I guess I have been fishing them way to fast. I will have to give them a serious try this week.
  10. This winter I am going to redo my floors. I was thinking of putting in a little rubber padding between the wood and the carpet. This might help the bad back.
  11. That's just awsome LBH. I'll see if I can make the trip up there to help out. Clay Dyer is such an inspiration.
  12. The short answer to your question is No. The only thing the time of year effects is the length of your leader when fishing grass. I fish an 8 to 12 inch leader in the spring and lengthen it, as the grass grows longer as the year progresses. The C-Rig is a great rig to work in and around any cover. I fish anything from finesse worms to the a 14 inch monster homemade worm.
  13. Welcom to the site. You Texas Rig the plastic.
  14. kevthebassman, Welcome to this site. Here's my 2 bits worth. I think that the solunar tables are a bunch of speculative nonsense. I fish and hunt and have put these tables to the test several times. I have an extensive fishing log that covers the last two years and a hunting log that covers the last 16 years. I have found no evidence that the moon has any substantial effect on wildlife. The amount of light has more effect than anything. Living things with eyes not adapted to the night find it more difficult to find food when they can't see it.
  15. That's too bad. I guess you need to start talking to other people around where you live about this site.
  16. Look up. Hold the lure up above your head and if you can see a good silhouette with the sky as a background then you shouldn't worry too much about noise. But, if the sky is dark then the noisier the lure the better in should work.
  17. The first thing you need to do is call the guy back and get a noterized Bill of Sale. This should take the place of the title in most states. If it ends up the boat was stollen then that just stinks.
  18. This is the only site I would recomend. It is perfect for the Beginner. There is no way you will be disapointed.
  19. Great man. Welcome. It's addicting and worth every second.
  20. Not set rules on this one. It's gonna work. It's more important for you to learn under what conditions to use it. You could have the best bait in the country but it's only gonna work if the conditions warrent it.
  21. Oh yea, I love to fish all winter long. Thank you Lord for Gor-Tex and Fleese.
  22. Most of the time I will use an EWG but when I am pulling through grass I will switch to a straight shank worm hook. I comes back with alot less grass.
  23. Water clarity has alot to do with it. I have pulled spotted bass out of 25ft of water with a Bama Rig which is a Topwater Rig. LBH, Theirs another Rig for ya. I am friends with it's creator. I will have to take some pictures of one when I get back from vacation so you can see it.

This is just my pet peave. See some people just don't realize, (and I know this from experience) that bad information can set a new fisherman back month even years in his or her progress. For the longest time I thought a T-Rig was a C-Rig because someone had described it that way. So when I would ask someone a question about a C-Rig their answer would just confuse me even more. It sucked when I found out that I was mixing them up.
