  1. Yea Mo hit it on the head. Also the cast for a C-Rig is a little different also. The only way I can describe it is it is a slow, deliberate, overhand rainbow cast.
  2. Just a few months ago I went out early in the morning I know that it was going to be a stormy morning so I stayed close to the ramp. I was fishing a point not 200 yards from the dock. The storm was comming and I was still about 4 or 5 miles away. I was catching large fish after large fish and I noticed that when I held my rod up it started to make a static noise. I instantly dropped my rod in my boat and headed to the truck. It scared me to death. It's not worth it to wait till the last minute because you don't know when that last minute is.

Bass109, We are glad you post on this site. We know that you have plenty of experiences to share. This is fishing and it is expected that the truth will be streached from time to time. The only thing we ask is that you are as honest as possible. The New York state record for a largemouth bass is 11lb 4oz. If you did catch a 13lb bass in New York that's awsome. You might want to see what you can do to get it registered as a record. Throughout your life you will be known more by your integrity than almost anything else.
  4. Get off the water. Yes trees attract lighting but there are a lot more trees on the shore than boats on a flat empty lake. I hope that you have seen the storm comming and already made plans to where to go and are already on the way to getting there. If you are on a large lake use someones boat dock and find some cover. If they get mad at you it doesn't matter you are still alive to fish another day.
  5. When I am useing one trailer hook it swings free. But I sometimes use as many a four or five trailer hooks linked in a chain. In this case I will keep all but the last one stiff. Yea it sounds crazy but when they are just flashing at my spinner bait I keep adding trailers untill I hook up. Trust me it works.
  6. Like LBH and fivebass limit sais you need to try to watch the entire line. If that's not possible than watch what you can see. Look for the slightest change from the norm. Also a good pare of polarized glasses are a must because many times (This happend to me today while fishing a fluke on slack line.) all you see is the flash from a fish.
  7. I love controversy but this one is getting very old. LBH, Just think what would have happened if your subject title had been "Down with Ford Trucks"
  8. I'll try anything once. Now where are those Ballparks...... I hope I have a hook big enough..... Hey I could use this flavor injector and my special sauce. Now I have bait and lunch covered.
  9. You can design the best fish catching lure in the world but it won't make you any money if it doesn't catch fishermen first.
  10. You're kidding rite? It sounds like you need to concider your source. They might be pulling your leg.
  11. That's why worms come in bags of up to 20. They are going to rip. You just need to replace them. Now if they are sliding around even before you catch a fish with them you probably need to do something about it. Gluing this is one thing. The one thing I started doing is using Gamy EWG G-lock hooks. I used a lighter and a small pocketknife. I heat the tip of the knife and fix the tears.
  12. As long as the boss (my wife) will let me get away with. Keep her happy and live to fish another day.
  13. Raul, The lures in your picture get better looking every time you change them. You got me waiting for the one with blond hair and blue eyes.
  14. Yea man I love spending time with The Other Woman.
  15. Yea tires are not a good idea in most lakes around here. They could get you in a heep of trouble. Hooker, I use to go around to Christmas tree collection points the week after and I would get about 300 tree and put them out untill the needles fell of and then put them out. The only problem with this is the only last a few years and they are gone. There are a few positive things I have learn that might help. Somewhere in your area is a place that makes cinderblocks. They are usually very happy to give away all the broken and chipped ones they have. The idea about limbs is great but remember the best ones are large hardwood ones and it takes several cenderblocks to sink them good. Here is what the Georgia DNR did on a local lake that was pretty much void of structure. It is an ongoing project and it has been great to be a part of. http://georgiawildlife.dnr.state.ga.us/content/displaycontent.asp?txtDocument=117&txtPage=3
  16. My wife, mother and mother-in-law all hate it. ;D
  17. Go to Ebay and do a search for FOL2002. It is the best fishing log I know of and only cost 16 bucks. It is searchable and has a place for pictures and much more. It has just about everything.
  18. If that thing is hollow than try filling it with a few pieces of soft plastic to give it a little weight.
  19. One of the lakes I fish never has a chance to stratify. The dam is equipped with backflow pumps. Basicly when they are finished generating they pump the water back into the lake in order to keep it at a constant level. This keeps the lake from stratifying. I also make for some interesting summer fishing.
  20. Spotaholic, Remind me to hang on next time I drain one off the back of your boat.
  21. I paint most of my sinkers. I have found that Rustolium is the best paint. Two or three coats and it stays on pretty good. I have found a color that is somewhere between watermelon and green pumpkin that is great. I will post what it is called when I get off of work. My colors are Black, Brown, Green and Red. I try to match my worm or the color of the bottom depending on what I have rigged most of the time.

I used to love fishing UL. I still get a kick out of useing my UL and 4lb test on the 12lb catfish at my in-laws house. If you enjoy UL fishing and are frustrated with breakoffs I would suggest you invest as much money as you can in a rod and reel. The best that I have ever used is the Ray Scott combo. It was designed by one of the best UL spinning tackle fishermen ever. The combo will run about 270 bucks. But it is the best out there. My father-in-law has caught several Largemouth over 6lbs on 4lb test line with this combo.
  23. Yea it works great. That's what I did with my boat. It keeps things cool on hot days, and cuts down on noise.
