Castable Depth Finders?
as a bank angler, I think I'm offended by these cruel comments. :-/ I need to know the dropoff level, if there is a dropoff, and what the structure is on the bottom. and not just at the edge of the bank, but 5 feet out and so on...

Your Confort Zone?
bassman and bassmaster, now thats good info I might be able to really use, I'ma see if it might apply to my fishin... and since I'm fishin on shore, I have to focus the most on the best area to fish within a small part of the lake. when I have much of a choice, I like plastics on top of grass, crankbaits in front of cover.. I am at a point where I dont have much I like the most because I am learning all kinds of new things besides shallow running crankbait everywhere...

Castable Depth Finders?
ah, their expensive. will take soem time to gather money like that. (although I manage to buy too many lures as it is) and u know riverhawg, ur quote... I have to say its a good one. as I think about it, I think I do fear the fish. not like I'm scared of them, but in the sense that they wont bite.

I need some help?
well, I'd try a plastic of some sort. twitch it around in the grass so the bass see it movin around, without a weighter on it, or c-rig it if the grass is in the water so the plastic floats above the grass. like I hear alot of people saying, move it slow. if the grass is along the shore, toss the lure in front of the grass and pull it along the shoreline. if the water is warm enough, cast a spinner/buzzbait in front of the grass along the shoreline. maybe cast it right at the edge of the grass (do the same with worm) and have it bumpin the grass as it comes down the shoreline. hope I could help some.

Castable Depth Finders?
I heard about one at Dicks sporting goods, but haven't really tried it. depending on responses here, I might invest in one since I can only bank fish...

Points & Coves & Need some help...
I got a general topo map of harris (thanks to the person who mentioned mytopo.com) ... if I am goin to fish a point, what would I need to look for? I can't see structure, so that I would have to do on my own. I heard someone mention something about a cove with a bunch of points in it. I figure a point with a dropoff is good. maybe alot of dropoffs would be better? if I'm looking at a topo map of a lake, and fishing on shore (so not able to move to many points/coves) what would u all advise me to find and etc? what kind of cove/points? I hope all that made sense...
