It's working for me, I just had to give it some time. You'r right. I had to wait 15-20 mins, now its up.

Local-Dick's, Not the greatest selection but good for the basics. A couple of knowledgeable folks, but what I like best is that I know this young cutie that works the register and she always greets me when I come in. Online-I just ordered from tackle warehouse. EXTREMELY fast, and I save about $20 on shipping a 7'11" rod. Great service.

On one hand I believe you should start out with a quality reel. Something reliable, that you will not get frustrated with and just give up on. Im glad I learned on my citica, it was a breeze. On the other hand, I feel that if you are not sure if baitcasting is for you and want to spend a little to get the hang of it, by all means. Thats why baseball players swing heavy bats on deck, then switch to something lighter when they step into the box. 8-)

I forgot, I caught one of these too. It got clotheslined while swooping for a chunk of squid that fell of the dock while my buddy was cutting bait. Got it untangled though.

I think just a snapping turtle when I was younger, But it was HUGE. It snapped my hook in half.

The dollar store has these chocolate covered pretzels for a dollar. I stocked up, now my stomach hurts.

Why not spend a little more and get a hard swimbait? If you get one that floats or sinks slow, you don't get snagged, it last longer..right? Any advantages of soft over hard when it comes to swimbaits?
