  1. i am pondering the purchase of one of these engines in a 4 stroke 9.9 or 8 hp. any opinions out there?the price seems to be very competetive, should i go with the 8 or 9.9?
  2. ok, i have owned a 10 ft riveted jon a 9 ft kl industries pontoon and presently own a 1444 g3 welded jon.the 10 ft was too tippy and small, the pontoon was a little better but did not hold up to the dragging around. i dragged it because, like u, i fished alone. i broke down and bought the g3 new. i added my old trolling motors and have slowly upgraded the boat over time. it came with a front casting deck.my advice, look for a used 14 ft jon, welded would be best, and slowly update it.i fish electric lakes mostly and iam in ga too. there is a 14 ft jon for sale up the street. on hwy 81, in loganville. it has a 8 hp mariner on it. let me know if u want the telephone no. good luck

  9. ok after the cast how do u work the c-rig?
  10. t mike i have the same breaker, but mine has little mounting wings on it. i rran a small copper, heavy , standoff on my + post and then put a 6 ga wire to the plug i told u about.. i got the wire from a set of jumper cables and crimped on some battery terminals. i kept the run to 6 ft the plug is from marinco and they sell a 6 ga adapter. they had the plug and receptacle on sale at bps for 18.99, but the adapter was another 15. i too have been trying to make this as neat and professional as possible
  11. lbh, why do i need the 6-10 in offset? the fello i bought it from said a lot of people put them on the battery
  12. i went to bps fri nite and found a tm plug and receptacle that u can buy an adapter for that takes 6 ga wire.it is made by connect pro. now to find some 6ga wire in the right length. i put my breaker on the battery
  13. good looking job, one tiny question. how are u plugging in your bow mount? what type of plug are u looking for?i am looking for something that will take 6 ga wire. does anyone make one?
  14. the bps in lawrenceville will start its sale soon, wait and see what kind of deals they have
  15. iam also waiting on this sale. i work down the street from bps.igo to this sale every year, it ushers ih my first fishing of the spring. u can expect some pretty good deals, they will have bins of baits lying around. it will be very crowded on the weekends. i picked up some rods after xmas and might return them if something better is on sale. u can sometimes get stuff for half price.this year my brother will be visiting that weekend, i know the bait monkey will get him! u might be able to pick up some bps combos at half off, wait.
  16. i had this same problem and ended up buying a timer to plug my charger into. i burnt up more than one battery. this year i went to a smart charger. fully auto, sets the needed charge rate, 2 4, or 6 amp, and then shuts off. the new charger cost less than the old charger, 26$ at wally world. smaller too.
  17. i too am feeling the effects of too many cranks.i am going to the c-rig and plastics this year. jigs are hi on my list this year also. god grant me a little more patience! i also want to fish a few more lakes and try the ones i have not had luck with a little harder
  18. on my jon boat trailer i am wondering what the tire pressure should be? does 60# sound too hi?
  19. 9 lbs even, lost abigger one at the boat last year.will buy a net this year
  20. hydrilla gorilla web site will get u started. i fish a 14 ft g3 w/ a 44 inch wide bottom. look for something on the wide side, mine has a front deck welded in. there are a lot of websites with ideas on them. try the gon website. way too much info out there, your brain will rattle.
  21. go to the ga outdoor news forum, there are some for sale and opinions on them
  22. my tm plug shorted out and had to be replaced. i put a 50 amp breaker in line with it.the problem i have vad is trying to find the right terminal connectors. i went with 6 ga wire , but had to make copper standoffs for the battery and breaker because it was such a tight fit. i have spent a lot of time trying to get this hookup right.
  23. i used half inch plywood in mine, the weight was minimal. i only carpeted and floored about 4 feetx 4 feet. my g3 1444 has a front aluminum deck built in.i have been known to take a little nap on the floor, i put my feet up on my back bench.
  24. i own a 1444 welded jon. i like it but i have not rigged it for a gas engine yet. i have had no problems as far as welds or seams go. 2 grand with a trailer, very reasonable.
