  1. All summer long I wade in just shorts and sneakers in waist high water...in some cases some pretty nasty water. Obviously retreiving lures is usually not a problem for me. I beleive as an outdoorsman getting wet is all part of the experience. Although I wouldnt recommend my type of fishing if there are gators where you fish...or if your afraid of snakes and snappers.
  2. try a zara puppy...i find that these are pretty easy to walk...hold your rod tip down and to your side...reel slowly and jerk at the same time and the dog will do the rest
  3. A horny toad on the pads is good, but also try ripping a crank bait through...if its real tough use heavy braided line ( 35-50 lb ) if there are big bass in there, thats where they may be hiding.
  4. A rattle trap is a search bait...it is meant to attract fish from far distances, thus the noise is ok
  5. Thats awesome!!!!! I vote for that one
  6. Its hard to see the girth but I would say its around 5 1/2 lbs...nice fish!!

minnkota is minnesota and north or south dakota...I forget. And if the little green box is what I think it is...its a box to store nightcrawlers in that i had when i was a kid...or to store boogers in
  8. I saw a ghost when i was 12. It was huge and green and had a black stripe down its side. It was the ghost of christmas bass!!
  9. The only problem with golf is its not fishing
  10. I was wading at a resevoir and midcast I hit a dragonfly. That wasnt so weird, but when I was reeling him in it looked like he was attacking my lure. He followed my lure all the way back...or so I thought. I actually tied a knot around him in mid air. I pulled both ends of the line and he was cut clean in half. I was amazed...true story. It left a knot in my fireline!!
  11. Hey bassackward...I truly beleive in catch and release, but thats the nicest mount I've ever seen!!
  12. I started fishing when I was 6 or 7...then for some reason I fell in love with bass fishing and since age 20 thats all i fish for. Now Im 33 and I am obssessed with bass and I cannot explain it. I have recurring dreams about seeing a huge bass in this lake and I either have a rod with no reel or no line and I have a panic attack. When I watch bass shows my heart beats real fast...like right now. I see bass on tv and say " that is so beautiful " and my wife is like " theres something wrong with you " LOL...shes right though there is something wrong with me...im sitting here and not fishing. With that said...the bass ( lmb ) is the coolest creature on the planet...followed by chameleons. Did I say that out loud?
  13. I dont know if you can submit a short video, but if you can I would show some video of someone like Iaconelli to educate your fellow students on the growth of the sport. I tell people I bass fish and they automatically assume " hillbilly ". I live in philly so bassers are scarce. Showing a new outlook with someone like Ike would be cool and catch interest.
  14. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!
  15. The rattle is a good suggestion...if it doesnt work try following up with a 5" senko. The sudden turn off also could have been due to pressure.
  16. It sounds like you were in one spot...if so move around. Also look for the baitfish to make sudden rushes, it looks like a gust of wind. This usually means a bass is chasing them, whenever I see that I cast a senko directly in the rush and almost always land one. But the real key is to keep moving.
  17. I cast out a 5" senko and let it sit while I go home, have dinner, take a nap and then come back to set the hook. Thats dead sticking!! ;D
  18. That Allison is hot...I like Gambler Intimidator with E-tech engine!!
  19. I really only have two...1 big, 1 small. The small one is when I'm bank fishing and someone lets there dog run in the water right near me...i'm too nice to say anything to them but it ticks me off. The BIG peeve I have is when people litter where they fish. This really upsets me and I DO say something to these people. How can you call yourself a fisherman and destroy the land you fish on. TAKE YOUR S@#T WITH YOU WHEN YOU ARE DONE!!!
  20. If you decide to keep it make sure you put lots of cover or hiding places for him since they are predatory and like to ambush their food...besides they are generally shy from people. If you leave the tank wide open with nothing in it this will definitely stress him out and may make him sick and even die.
  21. I'm with Vyron...I use a rattletrap or spinner bait in these conditions and usually do well.
  22. There is a job that pays $50k a year...gives you your own bass boat...and you just take people out and fish all day and occassionally go cross country on fishing excursions, all expenses paid. Wait...that was a dream I had last night, darn!! Hey if you come across a job like this, let me know please. That is my dream job.
  23. Set the hook HARD!! Try using a Gamakatsu EWG 2/0 hook...I use these for almost all worms and I never loose fish. Some people prefer a bigger hook, but I do fine with this, no matter what size fish. On almost any GOOD soft plastic there is no rush to set the hook, they will not let the worm go. Take your time, reel in the slack and make sure he is on there, than BLAM!!. I wouldnt use braid as there is no stretch and you will lose fish on a good hook set. Braid is good as far as the line floating and " seeing " the bite, but if you set the hook hard like your supposed to, you can rip the hook right off the line.
