I've done fairly well at Lake Newton the past few years, but not this year. One largemouth in about 8-10 outtings. Looking for another source I tried Hopkins Pond and Evans Pond. Nadda...didn't see anything resembling a fish. Any bass left in South Jersey? :'(

If I don't catch anything on the first cast, I move to a different lake Kidding aside...I usually give any good looking spot an hour, or so. As the others have stated, try changing lures, colors, and depth. Keep in mind, as the old saying goes..."If they ain't there, they ain't there :-?". Time to move on.

I seem to be missing alot of fish :-[. I was out today, and caught 4 fish, but missed about half a dozen. Had one half way in, and got off . One right up to the bank, and got off (both largemouths). Three or four I missed completely. Any tips on properly setting the hook? The lures I'm using are in-line spinnerbaits, and mostly brand new (straight with sharp hooks). Thanks

Thanks moby. I'm not going to buy any more rooster tails. Not worth the aggravation. It's a shame, because they will catch fish (when they do spin).

I got the same combo. Rod has decent action, but I had problems with the reel (anti-reverse pin kept popping out). Had to send the reel back for replacement. I did catch some nice largemouth bass, perch, crappie, and sunnies with the set-up. Good luck with Yours
