  1. I can't seem to find a decent one. I usually buy a new one every one or two years. But I always tend to buy a cheapy from a department store. They never last. Who the heck makes a good wallet? I mean nice leather, with rugged stitching? Something that will last awhile. Any ideas? I'm tired of junk. BTW, I prefer a tri-fold, but a bi-fold will do if it is a good quality wallet.
  2. I watched it. I've gotten into the habit was watching some shows like this with the volume down. The inaccuracies are just too much to bear, sometimes. Lots of good footage. Despite the claims, much had been shown before. Quite a bit was colorized black and white film.
  3. Try Yo-Zuri Live Bait Shallow Vibe lipless cranks. These are really good lipless cranks. These are solid plastic with a soft-touch feel to them. (They are not flexible as Yo-Zuri suggests.) They feel a bit heavier than hollow lipless of the same size. They cast a long, long way. They have great actions at any speed retrieve. Even at slow speeds they flutter very nicely. They jig well since then flutter on the rise, and don't plane to one side when they sink. They do not nose-stand on the bottom like the Yo-Zuri Hardcore. They will flop over on their side when they rest on the bottom. These are excellent baits. And they are relatively inexpensive. I recommend them highly. In a clear-water lake, the clear models are absolutely destructive. http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/ProdLiveBait/LiveBait-ShallowVibe.htm
  4. They look like a Carrot stick that hasn't begun to ripen yet.
  5. Those silly little pre-rigged Creme worms with the silver spinner blade on them.
  6. Everyone seems stuck on gear ratio when it is inches-per-turn that is the true measure of a reel's speed. For instance, the 5.8:1 Daiwa Sol cranks in 23.6 inches per turn. The S L O W Daiwa Zillion High Power (Crazy Cranker) pulls in 22 inches per turn. Not a heck of a lot of difference. In fact, the Crazy Cranker at 4.9:1 is faster than the Revo Winch at 5.4:1. The Revo pulls in 20.6 inches per turn. Don't get hung up on gear ratio.
  7. I catch the most on red craw colored cranks this time of year.
  8. Yes, time again to start talking about our Second Annual Bassresource get-together. We should try to do lunch somewhere this year.
  9. Those red marks are everywhere a body has been found.
  10. What Dodgeguy said. Seems like a no-brainer to me. BPS will replace the reel. They are good at that.
  11. Might be nice for you, but here there is a lot of flooding. The tidal creeks were overflowing into peoples homes. Underpasses had 8 feet of water. I had no power for 48 hours (Had no power for 36 hours - just long enough to have food go bad. It came on for 6 hours - just long enough to replace that food. Then it went out again for 12 hours - just long enough for that new food to get warm.) On thursday, the waves were breaking against the side of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. Tree down all over the place. A friend of mine lost her garage. This storm wasn't as bad as Hurricane Isabell, but it was close here.
  12. I'll be getting one of those. It's essentially got the upgrades common to the old STX, with a better brake. Looks great, too.
  13. That's one hunk of pickerel!
  14. If I see fish feeding on the surface, I'll use topwater lures.
  15. Great news! Congrats!
  16. BPS's Pro Finesse is an intriquing reel. It seems to be very nicely made, though I've never seen the internals. The fit and finish, though, is as good as any brand. The new grips are really nice, too. I've found myself checking this reel out frequently.
  17. Tackle Warehouse still has the first generation STX available. These are fantastic reels. For $135 they can't be beat. http://www.***.com/descpageRLCABUGAR-AGRSTX.html Oops, just noticed they only have left hand retrieve left.
  18. I always LOL when the old indian man jumps on the squaw who is stealing the horses and the supplies. She fights back, pins him down, and is about to stab him when Josey comes up and pulls her off of him. The old indian says, "I'm glad you came along when you did. I might have killed her." ;D ;D ;D ;D I love this movie!
  19. Some might stick. I don't think the carbon matrix would. It is inevitible that I forget to untighten a drag now and again and sometimes I don't discover it for quite a long time. I've never had any problems with the drag sticking after I discovered it.
  20. I have no problem at all with that ad.
  21. I have a 12 year old and a 14 year old. We're always yelling to each other. "Come down to dinner!" "Turn down the music!" "If I hear that word come out of mouth again I'm gonna whoop your ...!" We have a loud house.
  22. LOL, I didn't even notice. I'm shocked and appalled. ;D
  23. Dave, you fry that fishy up and I'll clean its bones for you!
