If anything, you can use it for a fishing weight.

Cheap Reel
You coulda sent me $4 and I would have pooted in your direction and you'd be better off - and saved $4. Seriously, though, you have to post some pictures and a review when you get that. That's awesome! ;D

Do you loosen drag after each use?
I do it out of habit, but really don't think it's necessary with most modern drags - especially carbon matrix type drags. I don't think it would hurt them one iota if you left the drag tightened. Friction wears them down, not pressure. Keeping them clean probably does more to help performance and longevity than keeping pressure off them.

PayPal can kiss my
My wife got a letter in the mail from Citibank the other day stating they were raising her credit card's APR to 29.99%. She had a high line of credit, very low balance, never a missed payment. I guess Citibank is still hurting after taking $3 billion in bailout funds. Needless to say, they can take their card and and stick it up their rosy ...

Treating Leather Boots
What kind of black boots? Boots for wearin' or boots for showin'? If they are for showin', just use Kiwi. If they are for wearin', like in the woods, SnoSeal is great. http://www.atsko.com/products/waterproofing/sno-seal.html

Bass Pro Sneaky?
Bass Pro has a history of questionable practices. Each year they will advertise a combo, usually an "Extreme" or a "Pro Qualifier" that makes one believe you will be getting a great deal on a rod and reel that seperately would cost much, much more. And when you finally see the combo in the store, neither the rod nor the reel bear any resemblance to the current "Extreme" or "Pro Qualifier" rod or reel, except in name.

Roumba?
They are a bit pricey. But they do produce. If I were to only have one, it would be the transparent crawdad color.

Roumba?
I've caught some fish on all of mine, except my new rattling models. (Haven't really used those to much yet.) I think all the colors have some merit. The black is good in the evenings. The silver shad is decent on brighter days. The frog, bluegill and bass have produced well for me. The transparent crawdad color is the one that has produced the most for me. It seems to produce anytime there is a topwater bite. The frog colored one is my favorite, just because it is so darned pretty.

Roumba?
You can do that. The Roumba is more a surface wake bait than a diving crank. You can get it to dive, but you have to crank it pretty hard to get it to dive. It will dive just under the surface and has a nutso action. It will feel like you already have a small fish on. But it excels on the surface. Use it where you would use a topwater or wake bait. Cast it over grass and around structure. In my experience, a slow to moderate retrieve is best. The Roumba is a great bait - may favorite wake bait. I don't have one in white. My most productive Roumba is in the transparent crawfish color.

Need a PC guru
Is is an HP brand desktop? If so, HP releases updates periodically themselves. One of their updates causes mine to reboot slower than before the update. I get a blank screen but not anywhere near 5 minutes. If you have an HP, see if there is an update you haven't installed, yet.

Rapala Sure Set hooks?
Years ago I began regularly gill hooking fish in cold tidal water that seemed to slap at the bait. An old hand on the river actually gave me a handful of SSs and I used them to change out the tail treble on some of my baits. That cured the problem. I don't know why it is, but the gill hooking problem was solved. Now I use them on the rear of all my cranks I throw in cold tidal water.

I saw on another forum the Shift will be around $150.

Line Guide groving problem on Rod
Wow, that's really bad! Looks like some one scraped it on concrete. Braid did that? I can't imagine mono/fluoro did that. I'd definitely exercise the warranty, the sell the replacement.

CDM Rapala Rods - very nice!
Canadian domestic market. :-? Anyway, looks like Rapala is turning out some nice bass rods for our neighbors to the north. Shouldn't be too much to acquire some down here... http://www.rapala.ca/products/rapala/shift.php

Need a PC guru
Don't worry about it if everything is running fine. Sometimes certain updates have to be installed before the OS is up and fully running. The OS will pretty much take care of itself so let it do what it needs to do to keep running. Just keep your firewall on and your virus scan current and you'll be fine.

LC pointer vs Jackall squad minnow
In my experience, the Jackalls swing as wide as the LCs, and stop noticably quicker. Because they stop noticably quicker, they look more erratic to me. I like Jackalls better but either are fine.

My advice on first baitcaster.
I always hate when someone says they want to buy a cheap baitcaster to see if they like baitcasting. You're cheating yourself when you do this. You'll never like cheap as much as you will appreciate quality.

Unmarked Hazards
Neither the DGIF nor the VA Marine Commission mark any hazards. I've never seen a hazard marked. Most times, you find out about them by hitting them. I went out on a head boat on a company trip a few years ago and on the way out of the harbor in Hampton the boat hit one of these hazards and ended up breaking a propeller blade.

New Skeet Reese rods
Looked at them at Gander Mountain. They remind me of a bright, fluorescent yellow carrot stick. Pass.

Best reel for cranking..... gear ratio etc.
I've gotten to the point where a 6.3:1 is just fine for even my deep cranking needs. I have a couple of slow cranking reels that are pulling duty on my frog/slop rig. I'm finding I don't need a burner reel for this, and pulling a bass up with 5lbs of crap hanging from him is a little easier on a lower geared reel.
