  1. I would hate that if that happened to me.
  2. That's a big fish
  3. I would fix it because that's a good truck. My dad had a 1990 GMC with the 350, and it still on the original motor even at 280,000 miles. So the motor is strong and will last as long as you change the oil when you are suppose to. What size boat are you pulling? That truck should handle any bass boat or runabout boat easily.
  4. I think Bassmaster is the best. I like In Fisherman and Bassin (not as many issues but good). I went to Ebay and was able to find great deals on them.
  5. It might be worth a try and call or go to some other apartments and see if they have a gated trailer storage and see if you can rent it, even thou you don't live their they might rent a spot to you if the don't have a lot of trailer rentals. It's more money for them. Or if you are in a fishing club or have a really good friend, see if they can rent the spot in their apartment and you pay them. My dad lives in a apartment near 2 lakes here, and I'm 40 minutes from the lakes. So he puts my boat under his name and gives me a extra key. Then I just have to drive up and pick it up and park it when I want to, and all the trailers are locked up in a gated area in the back of the apartments and are safe.
  6. The solar charger would only help if the batteries are already charged. It helps keep a charger when it's sitting for a long time, not to charge a battery up if it is low. How wide is the storages at your place? You said they are 16ft long, but how wide? if they are wide enough you might be able to park the boat at a slight angle and it will fit. If all else you might have to unhook the batteries and take them with you and charge them inside your apartment.
  7. jigs and worms first
  8. I'm not sure how your bunks are held in place, but I would say tighten before the boat is on. That way the boat is resting on the bunks. If you wait to tighten the bolts, then the bunkers could sink a little in place from the weight of the boat. Then you might have more weigh of the keel on the rollers and you don't want a lot of weight resting on the rollers. They are their to help get the boat on and off the trailer not to rest on. When I re-carpeted my bunkers, it was held by nails, and I was able to re use some. I replaced others that needed to be replaced. I think I might have used a nail about every 5 inchs or so. Nails are good, cheapest way because everyone has a hammer. Staples would work good. I'm not to sure how well Liquid Nails would hold the carpet. But I would guess with Liquid Nails it needs to stay dry so you might have to leave the boat off the trailer for a day before you can drive the trailer back into the water to put the boat back on.
  9. I always thought the wax help make the part in the water glide faster over the water. It actually slows you down until it rubs off?
  10. I'm TN and we have seen times of rain, and about 3 mins of snow, but I know with the main lake. They didn't lower the water as much this winter, because last years drought never got the lake to summer pool. So I think they didn't drain as much water this year just in case it is a drought again.
  11. For me is a White spinnerbait with 2 blades (silver col. in front spinning, and a sliver willow leaf blade in back).
  12. Just think the world record was in GA for the longest time, I think 50+ years (don't remember actually years), and now it is in CA, so the south doesn't have the world record Largemouth, the west does. We do still the record Smallmouth. But if your in another country you don't have either record.
  13. Why have 2 records? You have a state record you can aim for. Then the you would have to split it in North East, South East, South West, North West, then you have some lakes and rivers that are in different states and that would be a lot of work for the agencies, and unnecessary waste of money.
  14. I would any 4cyl, should be able to pull a 16ft-shorter, any V6 20ft-shorter, and 20+ you would want a V8. Pos. trac is nice, but thats if the tires are slipping. Just give it a little gas and if the tires start to spin let off the gas. As long as you are going, you can start giving it a little more gas as you get momentum. Or what I do on real slippery areas, since I have 2wd, is I will apply the parking brake, just a little bit, to help keep the tires from spinning real fast or to much until I get going then release the brake. Of course the bigger the engine the easier it would be towing your boat, but I would just look at the weight of the boat and the towing rating for your truck, and as long as it is in that rating you should be fine. Just make sure to keep it in drive, and not put overdrive on at all or you can burn up your tranny.
  15. A Jonboat is light so it shouldn't make much difference on the truck. But you will need a hitch ball, depends on the trailer but either a 1 1/78" (smaller trailers) or a 2" (most bigger trailers 16ft-longer). Don't put Overdrive on if you are towing at least 500lbs+. Also if you are towing with a bumper mount ball, watch your sharp turns because the trailer will hit the bumper and maybe make a kink in bumper, which if you have a chrome bumper stands out. But if you have a under bumper receiver then you can turn sharper. And just make sure to add a little more turn so you don't hit something when turning. Last, also don't backup to quickly because the shorter the trailer the harder to back to because they turn quicker so just go slow when backing up.
  16. The Baconator isn't good for my diet, but d**n is it good.
  17. Champion. Even if they came with the same everything (motor, troling motor, etc...) just being the Anniversary Edition would make it better.

I have no problem with that, because I hardly talk on the phone and I doubt the government will wont to hear me and some friends talking fishing. The only people against it are people who have something to hide.
  19. He is guilty, if he didn't then you wouldn't be worried and just sit back and let things work them self out because he wouldn't have anything to hide. But he is going around Congress talking to each person because he is guilty and he is trying to get a friend level or saying he is a good guy so they don't look into him as hard or give him as hard of a time. I've never said done steroids, so if someone accused me I wouldn't be worried or do anything because I have nothing to hide. But I do drive a little fast, so if accused of speeding and I didn't want someone to know, then I would try anything to prove I didn't even thou I have.
  20. Bass Pro has a trailerable cover ( Bass Pro Shops® Weathersafe Trailer Tite Standard-Duty Trailerable Boat Covers) for $85-$125 (depends on the size you need). I have it and it has 1 strap in front, 3 that go around the boat, and 2 at the back. I haven't pulled the boat anywhere yet, so I'll have to let you know later when I tow it on how it does being towed.
  21. The difference is no, but Michigan fans, thought Michigan was that great last year. While everyone pretty much said all year LSU was the best team in the country. Then again it's all about match ups, Michigan got killed by every spread offense they faced. They just weren't fast enough or use to that type of system. While LSU is faster, and has played Florida that uses a spread offense, so they wont be as surprised as Michigan was last year. Then playing at LSU, that is one of the toughest places to play at. I think it will be like the Ohio State game, App. State would be use to the talent and speed that LSU will have. Finally, no SEC team will lose to a Div II, there is a reason the SEC also the top conf. and has been for the last decade or so.
  22. Last year was my first year so this year I have more info so here is mine 1) more consistent 2) become better with plastics 3) become better with jigs (I haven't had any luck with them) 4) catch my first bucket mouth, not your normal average size to small. 5) enjoy things more now that I have all the accessories and have the boat set up to my liking now.
  23. I've read some topics about how to, when I'm ready to repaint my old boat. But my question is how much paint should I get? I have a old 1972 16ft Terry Bass Boat (my profile pic). The bottom white is a faded white and the top green is a lighter faded green. I might keep the same colors, or I might change the colors, haven't decided yet. But I was just wondering how much paint I would need? And also I have 2 long carpeted wood guide rails on the side of the trailer, and I was wondering how the best way to paint that area of the boat?
  24. You should be able to find a manual, maybe Boaters World or a local dealer would have you, that will tell you and explain how to do a lot of stuff on your own. Like fluid changes, water pump replacement (when you need to), and other things with the engine. The trailer, their isn't much to it. The bearing may go out, but they last a long time, so I don't think you have to worry about it anytime soon. Just make sure there is grease around the bearing, and that's about it. Trailers are very easy, there isn't very many parts, so their isn't a lot of worries about them.
  25. It's a funny spoof. But you got to imagine it would be nice to be able to drive that and give it full throttle.
