plymouth voyager for towing ?
If all else you could find a old pickup for about $2000-less. I had a $800 1500 GMC with the 350 V8, it might when any car shows, but it ran and could haul anything I threw at it. So you if you have parking room, and can afford a extra $2000, you might want to think about just getting a cheap truck just to tow the boat. You can keep it hooked up to the boat, and just hop in it and go.

Good vehicle to pull a boat.
It depends on how much are you looking to spend. If price isn't a problem then you can look at the Chevy/GMC hybrids or newer V8's with the, I just forgot the name but it shut downs 4 of the cylinders when you are cruising, and uses all 8 cylinders when taking off, towing, and when you need the extra power. If you can afford those, like most of us, then you could look at maybe a Dodge Dakota with the V8. I have a Dodge with the V6 and one of my friends had one with the V8 and we got about the same gas mileage, he might have got 1mpg better. He drives slower then me, but not much difference on gas mileage and the V8 has a lot more power then my V6. So remember even though V6 are suppose to get better gas mileage, doesn't mean they do. You are still moving the same amount weight but the V8 has more power and can do the job easier then a V6 that you will need to push a little harder to do the same job. Just like if you have a 150HP motor vs a 200HP motor on the same boat. The 200HP you won't need to push the throttle down as far. The best gas mileage from best to worse, normal vehicles (no hybrids), mid size truck, full size trucks, mid size suv, then full size suv. A truck gets about 1-2 mpg better then a suv. My top choices for you would be, Dodge Dakota with V8, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier (V6), or maybe a Ford Explorer Sport Trac (I'm not a ford guy but if you are). I think these mid size trucks will give you enough power and will better on the gas then a full size truck.

Oh come on
Before you bash Walmart, atleast Walmart keeps cutting cost while gas companies keep raising. It's companies like Walmart, Home Depot, Kroger, and other big stores now getting into the gas business that will help bring the gas prices down because the more you use them the more the bigger gas companies will have to lower prices to get you to come back to them.

just curious
I don't own a ipod, and I will never own one. They aren't for me. I have a Palm Treo 650 that has a mp3 on it and I have 4GB memory stick, with is enough for me. I also have Sirius Radio so if I'm in the truck, boat, or home I have that I can take out and plug into one of the 3 docking stations.

Anyone else here fish from a kayak?
I fish from a yak every now and then. I actually do better, more catches, from the yak then from a boat. I guess you can sneak up on them better.

Do you use 4wd while pulling your boat out?
You shouldn't have any trouble with the power, it's just the traction faction. If you have limited slip then just give it a little gas and if the tire starts to spin you will feel it stop and start to keep getting traction, just don't floor it. I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9L V6 and I have never had any trouble and I have pulled my heavy fiberglass boat of a couple of steep boat ramps.

Cheap fishing kayak.
I have a Old Town Kayak and I take it out every now and then. I actually have better luck in the kayak fishing then in a boat. I think you can sneak up on them better. Just look around for prices, because I found my at REI cheaper because they had a sale going on. But I think Dicks, REI, Bass Pro, etc... all are about the same on the Old Town kayaks. Just remember you have to pay extra for the paddle, lifevest, etc.. I got a lifevest at Walmart for about $10

Pats accused of Cheating Again!!!
I think it is funny that the Pats accused Miami of cheating last year and knowing their play calls last year in one game. But yet they have been cheating for years. It's like they think it's ok if they do it, but not if someone else does it. Now with the Pats calling out Miami in that one game last year, which there was no proof, and the Jets and Pats being caught. It sounds like division is all rotten.

A piece of glass for a desktop. What kind, how?
You can also maybe try going to Lowes/Home Depot and they can usually cut the glass to your size you need.
-
Don't you hate it when.
I don't count that as a problem, if it ends right at the perfect moment or close, that's just perfect timing. Usually I have extra line, which if it's not enough for another reel, I'll use it for leaders or drop shot lines.

Trolling Motor Battery Question
I would suggest petroleum jelly, it is about the cheapest and maybe best thing to use. But if you wanted to make look a little better, maybe try putting the liquid electrical tape or liquid rubber (they sell to make handles of tools rubber) and that might keep them sealed and not have to worry about getting grease on you if you pull the batteries in and out.

What Makes a Man?
I would say Responsibility. Once a guy starts to get me responsible, rather it be taking care/fixing something, paying bills, etc... Pretty much does things on his own and doesn't have to ask someone else (parent/friends) to do something for him. When your counted on for something and not the cause or a moocher. That's my guess.

Joke, Fisherman on the Beach
The Fisherman One day a fisherman was lying on a beautiful beach, with his fishing pole propped up in the sand and his solitary line cast out into the sparkling blue surf. He was enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sun and the prospect of catching a fish. About that time, a businessman came walking down the beach, trying to relieve some of the stress of his workday. He noticed the fisherman sitting on the beach and decided to find out why this fisherman was fishing instead of working harder to make a living for himself and his family. "You aren't going to catch many fish that way," said the businessman to the fisherman, "you should be working rather than lying on the beach!" The fisherman looked up at the businessman, smiled and replied, "And what will my reward be?" "Well, you can get bigger nets and catch more fish!" was the businessman's answer. "And then what will my reward be?" asked the fisherman, still smiling. The businessman replied, "You will make money and you'll be able to buy a boat, which will then result in larger catches of fish!" "And then what will my reward be?" asked the fisherman again. The businessman was beginning to get a little irritated with the fisherman's questions. "You can buy a bigger boat, and hire some people to work for you!" he said. "And then what will my reward be?" repeated the fisherman. The businessman was getting angry. "Don't you understand? You can build up a fleet of fishing boats, sail all over the world, and let all your employees catch fish for you!" Once again the fisherman asked, "And then what will my reward be?" The businessman was red with rage and shouted at the fisherman, "Don't you understand that you can become so rich that you will never have to work for your living again! You can spend all the rest of your days sitting on this beach, looking at the sunset. You won't have a care in the world!" The fisherman, still smiling, looked up and said, "And what do you think I'm doing right now?"

Boat Buying advice
My first thing would be the flooring and transom area to make sure nothing is weak. Especially the transom area, if that is weak then it's not cheap to repair. Try to ask the owner as many question about the history or the boat why he is selling it, to try and get a idea about the boat. Like the boat I got, it is a 72 model, their wasn't really anything wrong with it, but he bought a runabout boat and didn't need the fishing boat anymore. Some other things about the motor some other guys will have to give you advice and things to look for.
