Can It Tow It? Well
Do not go for a front wheel drive only vehicle. When you add weight to the back it lifts the front up some and most of your traction is in the back. A front wheel vehicle will have trouble going forward will the weight. Their is a reason all towing vehicles have rear wheel drive. You will have trouble getting off some ramps in front wheel only. If your truck is under powered that is ok. You can tow more then the rating but not advised to. If you do you just need to be extra careful. Stay at lower speeds and allow for farther stopping distance. Our work trucks are Chevy 2500's and is rated for 2,000-2,500 or so in the bed and we have put 4,000 lbs on them at times and they made the trip. But the stopping is the key. If the road is wet give almost a quarter mile to stop because if you slam on the brakes the boat wikl just push you and slide or jack knife. Slow and steady.

Ocean Kayak Trident 11 - Any Good?
A ocean kayak is just a sit on top that has scupper holes, usually 6 or so. That away any water that comes over into the kayak is drains out the scupper holes. Some people will plug those holes if they aren't going to be near any big waves and no water splashes up. A lot of companies make ocean kayaks. I don't know about Trident but Jacksons and Hobie are nice good kayaks. Their is a lot of different types of kayaks, ocean, whitewater, river, lakes and those are broken into more categories like fishing (wider more stable) and cruising (that's what I call then, narrow and go faster)

Towing With Small Truck
What is the tow capacity of your truck? I have a 03 Dodge Dakota V6 that is rated for 5,000 lbs towing and I have towed up to 6,000 lbs but that was all it could handle. You could probably put 1,000 lbs in the bed of your truck so towing shouldn't be a issue. You might be rated to tow 3,500lbs probably. Just make sure to give extra time for stopping if it has trouble with the extra weight. A truck is made to haul and tow thats what they are built for. I usually go with the rule of thumb to me for 1500/f150 or lower is if the tire isn't touching the fender you are ok.

Pond Disruption
If it's a public pond they have as much right as you, but it does suck if you find a good spot and someone else takes up that area or foing something else but fishing in that spot. You get skiers in lakes, people that want to relax next to a river, etc... All you can do is try and fish when they aren't there.

Do Bass Feed Every Day?
I saw a picture once where a guy caught a bass and saw a frog inside its mouth. So they will feed even right after feeding.

Hanging Fenders
I upgraded boat a year ago and just now have time to add accessories and make sure everything works correctly. Today I realized the boat fenders hang differently on this boat then my previous boat. Where the cheats are the front fenders hang below the side middle part. And the back ones are a little high which makes them short almost straight out and not hang properly. It would be nice to have them hang perfectly vertical. On bigger boats you just let them hang but what have people done with bass boat that sits lower to the water? Half the time I go out I usually meet up with people and tie up together and just making sure I get the right setup to protect my boat and their's. If you have pictures that would be great. I was thinking about running a line through the top and bottom eyes of the fenders and have it connect to the fender 3/4 the way up. But I wasn't sure if the fender would then try to turn side ways and not stay vertical. I might have to add some cleats higher up the boat or on the inside part.

What Rods Should I Have On My Kayak?
Are you fishing a lake or river? When I go to the river in my kayak I take my 3 telescopible rods. That way the ones not being used can be retracted down and wont get snagged on a tree branch that I am passing. If I hit a lake I take my normal gear. I like the 6ft or so length with a medium 6-10lb line test rating. Even in a kayak I try to stilk stay on the small side with a smaller spinning reel because a lot of spots I am close and don't need that huge long cast.

Lookin For Rod Holder To Mount On Kayak
I got the scotty rod holder. It is about $20 at Academy Sports. It is a little lighter then the same look alike made for fishing boat.

Big Guy Yak
I have seen some Youtube videos with people adding outtrigers to the kayak. I am about to do that as my cheaper kayak is rated for 275 or so and I weight 250. It will be cheaper to add $20-$30 diy outriggers then $400 for a new kayak. Search craigslist and you might find one cheaper

Diy Shelter For Canoe/boat ?
Do you want it nice and permitted or cheaper and do able? If you want something nice you can dig 4 holes for the shelter, atleast 2 ft down. Put a 4x4 post in the hole and add 1 bag of concrete per I hole. You can decide height. I would make one side, either left to right or front to back, higher to give you a slight pitch for rain water to roll off. Then add some 2x4s on top to make a box frame keeping the 4x4s from moving. Then you can add metal roof or pressure treated plywood on top and paint it. If you want cheaper you could make a pvc frame using Ts or a 90 degree turn that runs a pvc pipe along the ground so it doesnt sink in the ground. Then just put a tarp on top. I would make sure to glue pvc connection, get stakes to hold frame down and maybe some sand bags, and try go glue and screw the tarp to the pvc. If a storm comes you don't want to have it fly away. I'll see if I can find some pictures what I am thinking about. The first one is like a smaller version of a park shelter type and the second one is like a camping canopy. Another idea is what about a boat cover? That is suppose to protect against uv rays.

Marine Grease
My owners manual on my boat doesn't say anything about the trailer and which grease needs to be used on the wheel bearings, rollers, or jack.

Any Tips On Changing A Lower Unit Water Pump/impeller?
I changed mine in a older boat and it wasn't rocket science and kind of like you think about dropping and getting to pump. The pump is actually just a rubber piece. When you get to taking the old one out just make sure no pieces were shot up the intake so its not clogged by a broken piece. You can do it yourself and don't need to pay high mechanic bill to have it fixed. I used a car jack with a couple of old shirts paddling the jack keel and it helped raise and lower when trying to take the bolts on and off.

Where To Buy A Boat Cover
I bought mine at Bass Pro, maybe $40-$50. I went ahead and bought from Bass Pro because its only 4 miles away and easy to take back if something is wrong with it. Trailerable is the way to go so you can keep gear out of site and nice to go ahead and put the cover on when you have someone there then trying to do it alone.

Marine Grease
I need to get a new tube of grease for my gease gun and noticed their is a lot of type of greases oit their. I was looking at the Marine Grease so I could grease my trailer bearings and be better since it gets dunked in the water. But I was looking at all the types. Is Marine Grease ok for wheel bearings? Is their a big difference in the main tube greases? I have seen white, general/multi purpose, marine, wheel bearing, and some others. I was looking to use the grease for qheel bearings and to make some squeaky noises go away like truck door hinge, left springs, different spots on another utility trailer, etc... I was thinking the Marine Grease would be the best but I wasn't sure. I wasn't sure if all the grease is like oil and not a big difference like 10w and 5w is that big of difference and 87 and 93 isn't that big of a difference and you v I uld use any for most. Also can you use that same grease on your brake pads when you change then to keep them quiet or is that a different type of grease.

Kayak Trailer
Oh yeah look at motorcycle trailers, golf cart, or lawn mower trailers.

Kayak Trailer
So she has a suv that she doesn't want to use as a suv. She should have got a car. If you put a blanket down it wouldn't get scratched at all. Are you going to be able to tow anything with it because the hitch ball on it might get scratched lol.

Kayak Trailer
How many do you have? If you have 2 or less you can tow them on the roof with some kayak foam pieces. That's what I use. Have you tried a local Craigslist section? You might be able to find one cheaper then $700.

Jig Fishing
I haven't had a lot of luck with jigs. Do you fish them the same as a worm or a lot slower? Which trailers do you like when you do use a trailer? Craw, grub/worm, etc...? If you use a craw do you use a simple one or try to get one that has the most attachments to move in the water?

Fishing Small River After A Rain
I'm not going in my kayak at that time but near my jobsite looks like a good bank fishing area but didn't know if the fish are trying to get out of the way of the fast current and not really in eatting mood. I didn't know if you could still catch a fish or if that is a waist of time until the water gets back closer to normal level.

Jig Head Vs Worm Hook With Bullet Weight
I'm sure this has been asked numerous times but I didn't know how to word it to find it. But I am trying to get better with plastics and I have noticed their is jig head or hooks with weight built into them and then there is the worm hooks that you can add a sliding worm bullet weight to. Which do you prefer or are they used for different presentations?

Fishing Small River After A Rain
I was wondering what fish do when you have a river that you would kayak/canoe (not big enough for boats) that is about 6ft depth max. But when it rains and the water levels go up to 18ft. Do the fish stay in the same spot or move up closer to shore. And when the water is moving pretty fast is the whole water moving that fast or just the top 2-3 feet of 15-18ft depth area? Is it calm near the bottom or are the fish trying to find a side creek to hide from the main river channel. And are they going to be at the edge of the main channel and creek meet or will they go has far as they can up the creek that they can? I'm new to river fishing. Usually a lake fishing man but rivers are fun to camp on. I wasn't sure what I should look for or focus on during the high water times.

Smallies In River (Under 6Ft Depth)
I have been taking my kayak out more and more on some river near Nashville. They all have smallers and I have been using a Senko green watermelon 3" worm rigging weedless. I can usually get about 4-6 each outting. My question is usually the fish I catch sre nice size for the river but you will see some bigger ones swim by when you surprise them. What other lures or retrieve would you use to get the bigger ones to bite. And if you have been on any of the rivers near Nashville let me know what you had good luck with.
