Brianinmd, Can you tell me where are some of the better areas to launch a canoe? What is considered a trophy smallie up there (weight/size)? What types of baits are good to use?

Has anyone from Maryland fished this river? I did some reading on it and the articles I read state that there is some good smallie fishing in this river near the Buckeystown dam. I am just curious if anyone has tried fishing there and if so how did you do?

I fish a lot of spots on base and have had good luck at quite a few of them. Memo43 does have an inside track, he knows where all of the ponds are located. You may want to drop him a pm and he can provide you with the information as to where the ponds are. If you want some details on any of the fishing on base send me a pm and I will be more than glad to send you some information.

If you go to the Rage Tail site you can watch videos of the baits. The lizard has some awesome action. If you like the chunk and craw, try the lobsters, they have been producing extremely well for me.
