  1. Sounds like you guys should make a list of things to check for next time. I have a checklist and a log, I also always tell my wife where I am launching, where I am going fishing and how long I will be out in case something goes wrong.
  2. Congrats on the bic e bass. Those rage tail craws are amazing.
  3. Hey Shannon (fishhard) and Joe (Bassinsoldier) I have finished putting the fishing shows onto DVDs for you today. I will be headed out to BJs tomorrow to pick up some snacks for each of you and the other soldiers in your unit. The packages will have DVDs, snacks and some bass magazines, I hope you guys enjoy them. Once again thanks to both of you for your service, my families thoughts and prayers for a safe return are with both of you as well as the many other soldiers that are protecting us. Stay safe and let me know once you receive the packages. Ron
  4. Congrats to you on your first big bass. Sorry to hear that he got away before you got a picture, at least you have the memory.
  5. Shannon, be careful over there in Afghanistan chasing down those Taliban members.
  6. to the forum.
  7. Good job, it sounds like you had a lot of fun fishing.
  8. Wayne, great job bringing the kids out fishing, you are the man.
  9. I am guessing that the fish never gets the hook in it's mouth before you attempt to set the hook. Maybe you need to give it a second or two before setting the hook, just a thought

  13. Great job, good luck at Oshkosh.
  14. Actually I thought that was pretty funny. Hey Paul don't worry Jason and I will convert you over to the Red Sox from the darkside.
  15. Nice fish and I like those lures in the pictures they look awesome.
  16. Only $10 for a one year permit.
  17. Tell your boss they are your days off and you already made plans that you can not cancel. If he ruins this trip I would find another job.
  18. Joe, I am up for that August 20th tournament, we will have some fun again. Andrew, thanks I hope to land an 8lb lmb by the end of this year.
  19. I can't go tomorrow but I can the following Wednesday (8/20) if you need a partner. No big deal on the worms I will get them next time we get together. Try using some if you want, see how the garlic scented swim senkos work for you.
  20. I went out fishing with Nitroman today on a private lake. We arrived at the lake at approximately 6:00 AM, we launched the boat and began fishing topwater. The fish were hitting top water baits just as fast as we could cast them into the water. I started off throwing a Cavitron Buzzbait (chartruese witha red balde and hook) and within the first 15 minutes I hooked my new PB, a nice 6lb 13oz LMB. Man there is nothing like catching a hawg on a topwater bait, she slammed the buzzbait and fought real hard, thank god I got a solid hookset. Nitroman landed a nice 2.5lb LMB later in the morning on the new Strike King 10 inch Anaconda I gave him. By days end we had landed approximately 40 lmbs, what a great day. Thanks Nitroman (a.k.a. Joe)
  21. Here is my big fish of the day.
  22. Well I went fishing with Joe (a.k.a. Nitroman) on the private lake and had a blast. Joe I can not thank you enough for a great day of fishing. Oh by the way I left my case of worms in your boat, I guess we are just going to have to get together and fish again so I can pick that case up. I must say I was amazed at the beauty of the lake, we saw bald eagles (awesome) and beautiful scenery. We started fishing early (6:00 AM) and we probably caught approximately 40 LMBs today in a 6.5 hour time frame, sweet. When we got there the steam was coming off of the water and the bite was on. I caught my best fish of the day within the first 15 minutes, a nice 6lb 13oz hawg on a Cavitron Buzzbait. Man what a feeling to catch a monster on a top water bait, the fight was awesome. Joe caught his biggest fish late morning on one of the new Strike King Anacondas that I gave him, it was a solid 2.5lb LMB. I have to say I had one of the best times fishing that I have ever had. Joe is a great guy and I look forward to fishing with him again soon. Hey Joe, Briery Creek is calling our names, can you say trophy bass. Once again Joe, thank you for such a great day of fishing. Here is Joe's big fish of the day
  23. The anacondas are some sweet worms, I had a tournament friend give me a couple to try. I haven't caught any bass with them yet but when I do I know it will be a good size bass.
  24. I have always been able to remove the hooks with the procedure below. http://www.in-fisherman.com/magazine/articles/if2806_HookRemoval/
