Andrew, I don't have any Rapala videos. I have some shows on my Tivo that I am transferring to DVD for Shannon. So what ever you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I want to get a package out to him next week. FYI: I just heard from Shannon this morning and he told me they had to deal with 3 roadside bombs and that they arrested 6 Taliban yesterday.

Nice job catching him on the frog, they are a blast to catch that way. You should try the rage tail toads to if you like frog fishing.

Nice hawg you got there. I love thise rage tail products, they have been very good producers for me as well.

This is for all of you Northern Virginia members. We have a member (Shannon Peters ak.a. fishhard) of the forum that is stationed in Afghanistan and he is requesting some DVDs of fishing shows or fishing videos from the net. I haven't been there since last summer but last year if you headed to the left of the boat ramp it used to be all hydrilla and lily pads. I don't know if it is still like that this year.

Two words: RAGE TAIL They make some great soft plastics that can be used top water or you can put a weight in front of them and run them sub-surface. You can read all about them and see a video of them at www.ragetail.com they have produced a lot of bass for me.

That brings up a good point. I was at Bass Pro Shop in MD and did not see the state record bass that was given to them earlier this year. Does anyone know what happened to it? It was there a couple of months ago. I am concerned that it may have died on their watch.

Jay, I am glad you were with me for this new PB, that was one heck of a fight he put up. I had him right next to me and his mouth above the water, when he made one last effort to get away, he fought like a champ.

I went wading on the Rappahannock River in Fredricksburg, Virginia and caught my new PB, a nice 2lb smallie.

I have thought about reporting this club to the park officials but I don't know what good it will do. This park has tournaments almost every weekend and they make a lot of money from these fisherman ($15 per boat, per day to launch). They also sell snacks and drinks from their consession stand to the people watching the weigh in. I think it would require a complaint to be made at the state level before anyone will address the problem. The second problem is the Potomac river is considered Marland property. The state line starts at the waters edge. I also hold tournament fisherman to a higher standard and take this as a slap in the face. I have never seen such blatant disrespect for a state park. This ramp is only a couple of miles from my house and I use it all the time so this is personally offensive to me.

I was out fishing the Potomac yesterday and there was a tournament going on where I launch (Leesyvania State Park). Well I got back in time to see the guys releasing their bass back in the water. I watched one guy dump a whole bag of dead bass back into the water, man I was hot. I can't believe that this guy had a whole bad of dead bass. Sorry I just needed to state my displeasure with this.

If you go with a buzzbait I would use a Cavitron. They come to top water qucikly and you can run them slower than the other buzzbaits.

I would also add the ragetail toads to the list, they work great.
