  1. I caught a few more on the ragetail toads this weekend. Here is one of them.
  2. Yes the snakeheads are biting. Use a chatterbait or spinnerbait in shallow water if you want to catch them.
  3. Congrats to your son. I fish with my son all the time and we have shared some great memories and had some great conversations.
  4. I would not bring a dead fish to the weigh in. You did the right thing, just my opinion.
  5. I think I would catch it, take measurements, take photos and release it. I have released every one so far so I can catch them again when they are bigger.

  7. Anybody up for some fishing Sunday morning? I know it is short notice but if you want to go send me a PM. I am thinking either Mattawoman Creek or Belmont Bay, I have room for one person. I want to leave early morning launch around 6:00AM.
  8. I have had luck with all of the colors in the kits I have bought at wally world.
  9. I have three Tourney Special rods from Bass Pro Shop that I have been using and I am very happy with them.
  10. Thanks for all of the advice guys, I really appreciate it. I will be in the water bright and early tomorrow morning and hopefully I will catch a nice hawg.
  11. I like the Gitzit tubes and have caught quite a few smallies with them. I also like that they are fairly inexpensive at Wally World.
  12. On two occasions I have caught a fish with a lure and one with a hooks in it and they looked healthy. In both cases I was able to remove the hook and the lure without hurting the fish.
  13. The rumor mill says October.

Great story, thanks for sharing. I also credit this site with teaching me a lot about bass fishing. I have made tremendous progress in the last year thanks to the many members and my friends here on this forum.
  15. Moby, you must be doing something wrong. Have you gone to the ragetail site and looked at the rigging instructions? These things work great. Send Big O a pm, I am sure he can help you out.
  16. I used to get skunked quite a bit before I joined the forum. I can now say that those days for the most part are behind me. I almost always catch fish no matter where I go, they may not be the biggest but I do catch fish.
  17. And hammer them they will. I have spent 90% of my time in the last six weeks throwing ragetail toads and shad because they catch bass. I love them because they come through the slop without any problems when retrieving them.
  18. NitroMan, check your pm.
  19. Yeah it is one of my honey holes. If you are ever in Northern Virginia look me up so I can take you out to fish it. This place is a top water dream, the top water bite lasts alll day even with the heat. The only thing is you must like fishing pads and hydrilla.

I use a gamakatsu 4/0EWG hook and I reel them in slowly, lust fast enough for the legs to kick up some water. If you are having problems with them running correctly try using a weighted hook 1/16 oz. I am not experiencing any problems with mine but I have seen people post stating that they are having issues. I insert my hook in the round spot on the nose of the toad, bring it out through the bottom just a little way down and then feed the hook into the belly, through the back and then skin hook it.

Sam, you are going to love the shad, they work well. Don't forget to try the toads, I have been tearing it up with them.
  22. Wow, who took that picture? Congrats on your hawg, it would have been sweet if we could have seen the whole fish.
  23. Here is one more.
  24. Here is one more.
  25. Here is another one caught using Ragetail Toads.
