I just bought one tonight. I figure it is a good starter combo for me since I have never used a baitcaster before. Once I get good at using them I will upgrade.

Wow I am glad this is not a baseball forum, three strikes, I would be out. I hope I have some decent luck with them, they look nice to me. I guess I have to wait and see how they work.

I bought my first baitcater today from Dicks. From all I am reading it looks like I am going to need to practice for quite a while before I take it out fishing. I am going to line it and practice casting it in my yard with a heavy weight on it to get the hang of it. I don't want to fish with it until I get the fear of creating birdsnests out of me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Has anyone used these yet? It says the head acts as a counter balance so the hook sits up and they claim it helps hook more fish. I just bought some to use this weekend, I also bought some YUM chunks to put on them. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Clemens told Andy Petite in 2000 that he used HGH and Andy testified under oath to that. In 2004 Roger told Andy that it was his wife that used the HGH back then not him. In a Mike Wallace interview Roger stated that his wife started using HGH in 2003. Wow there is quite a bit of discrepancies in this story and the Congressional panel picked up on that this morning. I think Roger is no better than Barry Bonds, he is guilty. I also was a Clemens fan until he told my son FU when he was only three years old back when he pitched for the Boston Red Sox. My son and my nephew were calling him to get an autograph 2.5 hours prior to the game and we were the only ones in the stands. I lost all respect for him then and I think he is a real low life for doing that, you do not act that way to little kids. Joe Morgan even came over and appologized for Rogers behavior and signed the two balls.

Andy Pettit turned on Roger, in his deposition (Andys) he stated how Roger told him that he was using HGH. It sure looks like Roger is a liar and he is no better than Barry Bonds. I hope the same thing happens to Roger, charges filed against him for lying if he doesn't admit the truth today.

I got a nice 7 foot MH rod (Tournament Special) at Bass Pro Shop on sale for $29 it's regular price was $49. If you go with something a little less expensive you will have money left over for lures and plastics.

I just replaced it with a Bass Pro Shop Tournament Special 7 foot medium heavy with a line rating from 8 to 17lbs. I used it last Saturday and love the action on it.

I believe I had an extremely large catfish on my line and he went under cover and I tried to pull him out and the rod snapped just below the point where the two pieces of the rod connect together. The spot I was fishing in has catfish in it over 30lbs. This was a medium heavy 6'6 rod and it had 14lb line on it and it was rated for a max of 14lb line. So much for the rating, in my opinion the line should have snapped before the rod. I chalked this up to experience and I will now only buy rods that I can return in person or ones that have a better warranty.

Just be careful of the rods. I broke one and they wanted me to pay shipping both ways to get it looked at with no promise to replace it. I only used the rod twice and it broke the second day using it. I paid $40 for the rod and with packing it in a tude and shipping it back I was going to be on the hook for $25 more with no promise of a replacement rod, no thanks. Needless to say I chose to buy a new Tourney Special rod from BPS and will never buy another Abu Garcia product again. I do still have one of their reels and I pray it does not break because I do not want to deal with them again. >

I hooked into a nice LMB a Huntsman, looked to be between 4 and 5 pounds, he came off just as I was pulling him out of the water. Man was I hot when that happened. I also managed to drop an expensive lure right at the dam and tried to save it and wacked my leg on a rock, now I have a huge lump on my leg and a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't anything broken. I will have to givce it a couple of days to see if the lump and the pain go away, last thing I need right now is a cast on my leg. I guess I also need to replace hooks again on some of my lures.

I contacted All Pro and they seem like a really good group of people, they spoke with me for about 30 minutes and asked me about the fishing I do and then told me what models they thought would be a good fit for me. I only found one thing I didn't like, they don't make a two piece rod and I prefer a two piece rod. I thanked them and told them that i would think about it. After I hung up I took a drive to Bass Pro Shop to check out the KVD Quantum rod unfortunately they didn't have any in stock. I did however find a BPS Tourney Special model TYS70MHS-2 7" Med Hvy Action rod. It was regular $50 so I put a reel on it and checked it out it seemed pretty sweet. I decided to buy it and took it up to the register and low and behold it was on sale for $29.50 (almost half price). What a sweet bargain it turned out to be, I almost went back and bought a second one. But I also picked up some new tackle and I figured the wife would have been ticked if I came home with two rods and the tackle so I played it safe. I do have to have money left over for a nice Valentines Day gift for her.

I agree that the driver was stupid and got killed as a result. You have to remember that he took other people out with him and you don't know if they were trying to stop him from driving this way before the crash. When I was a teenager four of my friends died due to the driver being drunk and racing down the road. One of my friends survived and stated that they tried to get the kid that was driving to pull over and let them out and he would not. So don't be to quick to rush to judgement on all of the people that were inside the car.
