those are some rad pics micro. the quabbin reservoir here in MA has a decent bald eagle population, last time i was there i was able to watch an eagle ****** a fish out of the water, drift over to shore and proceed to devour it's catch. pretty gnarly to see.

well boys this'll be my last post on here until i get back. all my gear's loaded up and ready to go, leaving the house around 2-2:30am to get to the airport, flight leaves at 6am and i'll be steppin out into the hot atlanta sun right around 9am. russ, we'll get em next time. that is, if you can remember your rods! good times regardless, hopefully there'll be a lot more this season. take care all! -mike

Towmotor i'm not too fond of it myself, but if you refine your search parameters a few times you just might find what you're looking for. believe me, if there's a question about about fishing, it's been asked and answered 100 times on this site. finding it is the hard part.

I was referring to the cost of a complete baitcasting setup. There is quite a selection at that price range from both BPS & Cabela's. x3 i bought a cheap pinnacle baitcaster from walmart and it was a complete waste of money. if you're really interested in picking up a baitcaster and learning, check out the articles like muddy suggested and that should help you at least get a grasp on the basics. there are also countless threads like "which baitcaster to buy" and "best baitcaster under $100" in this section of the forum. try the search button at the top and you'll pull up a ton of results.

:-? Man, I'm glad I can fish Shimano straight out of the box. it's not that i can't fish the revo right out of the box, it's that everyone says reels come back better than new once reelmech's done with them so i figured what could it hurt?

unreal, i'd be happy with one half that size!

eh, no biggie. i'll be on the water sunday anyways, i just wanted to try to get out and get that revo dialed in more than anything. i'll take a raincheck though, we'll have to get together when i get back.

nice, i'll probably take you up on that for the most part. i do want to get the revo set up and dialed in before i head to alabama so i'll probably bring that with me, but i won't be bringin the whole shabang down.

that depends. are you flying or driving? if you're driving that BPS bag looks like it'll do the trick, but if you're flying you'll want to get something a lot more protective. i'm using LBH's flambeau bazuka tube to get my rods down to alabama and that thing is RUGGED. it'd take a steamroller to cause any damage to anything inside that tube. it fits longer rods, too. my 7'er fits with room to spare and the tube's not even fully extended.

i would like to get some casts in on the new revo and hmx, so chances are i'll head down saturday if there's an open seat. let me know, i'm gonna have to unpack a few things if that's the case! what time do you usually hit the water?

keep me updated on that, i just might try to make it down if you've got an open seat. i had tentative plans to head to a local lake on saturday that's supposedly open but now i don't think my buddy's gonna be able to go so it's looking like that's not gonna happen.

you guys are making me jealous, russ! it's all good though, i'll be sure to land a few g'ville lunkers in your honor. 8-)

LOL, when I type that I have an idea in my head how it sounds.... Kinda like a chubby, out of breath kid saying it between gasps LOL you'll be hearing it echoed across 69,000 acres of water come sunday, my friend!
