looks like an awesome day on the water with the family, great pics, too.

a couple weekends ago my sister, her boyfriend and i fished a local ice derby here in ma. it was open to any public water in all of the central mass watershed, so we decided rather than target bass or pickerel like most people would be doing, we'd go to a pond where we knew there were some good size perch. from 7am-3pm i'd say we caught over 50 perch, 1 pickerel and 1 pout. we kept the 2 biggest perch, and the bigger one (caught by my sister) ended up placing 6th on the board. she weighed in at 5th but got bumped down a spot in the last few minutes of weigh-ins. the other one we kept was a few ounces smaller than my sister's and it didn't even make the board. she ended up getting $25 for 6th, but 5th would have been $50. winnings aside it was an awesome day out on the ice. here's some pics. my sister with her big winner... didn't measure the girth but it nosed out at 13.5" and weighed 1lb 4 oz. my sister's is the top one, her boyfriends is the bottom one

if i were a giants fan, i would still be celebrating. alas, i'm a pats fan, and all i can do is eat my words, stick my tail between my legs and scamper away like a beaten dog. :'(

i was so stoked watching the little bit that i did yesterday that i started watching all the dvd's again today. just finished up disc 3 and i'll probably watch 4 before i go to bed.

i'm so over it i'm switching teams, i'm gonna start rootin for the dophins.

i agree. i started watching yesterday on the history channel and after the second commercial break i had to pull out the box set, find the dvd with the part i was already watching and put it in. i couldn't stand the commercial's. like someone else said, any time band of brothers is on i end up watching.

i just hope this time around the dinosaurs can finish what they started and eat jeff goldblum.

walmart doesn't have very expensive sunglasses. if you go to the fishing section they usually have Renegade (which i think is the wally world store brand), Strike King and maybe a few other brands. i bought two pairs for like 15-20 bucks last time i bought some and they've done me well so far. the best part is for that cheap i don't mind when they get scratched or broken.

it's in brookfield, ma. the fishing seems to better during the winter, i've never had much luck there in the summer. my buddy lives on quaboag so i got to fish it a lot and i don't think i caught anything. i know there's fish in there though. a kid just pulled a 28lb pike through the ice a couple weekends ago.

nice catch! send some of that heat up here. it's been raining/snowing/sleeting for the last 5 days straight.

HAHA! good to see mattel keeping up with the times.... i used to be into music a lot, played in some metal bands over the course of about 6 years, then it was on to my bike which i ended up selling last year, and now fishing. 2004 yamaha r6 limited edition back in the day

i thought so, too. i pretty much got that okuma for free so i'm not going to complain about getting a new BPS low-pro baitcaster for $40 shipped.

long story short, i picked up an okuma baitcasting reel with a broken thumb switch for dirt cheap and sent it to outdoor world rod and reel repair which i guess is a subsidiary of BPS somehow. anyways, they don't repair okuma's so they offered to give me a discount on a house-brand reel. i don't know much about BPS's reels so i chose to get a BPS rick clunn left-hand 7.1:1 reel. after shipping i'm paying $40 for the BPS reel. any comments on this reel? i didn't really have much time to decide which one i'd like as the woman was sitting on the other end of the phone line, and this one seemed like a pretty decent one.

count me in, i just need a boat to fish from.

i do have to agree with that. belichek should have given credit to the giants defense, they worked his o-line hard all game and it showed in the final score. of course his undefeated team just got defeated, i'm sure he had a LOT to say in the locker room!

i only had $5 in on squares but didn't win anything. i was texting a friend in california all game because he had money down on the giants. on top of the spread bet he had $100 on a 15:1 chance the giants would beat the pats. i'll never hear the end of it now that he's $1500 richer AND that the pats lost.

i don't think brady got hit as much all season as he did last night. the ny defense showed up with a point to prove and they did just that. oh well, only a couple more months till the red sox start up. GO SOX!

the giants defense won them that game. yeah eli was the mvp, but if the giants defense hadn't laid a hurtin on the pats offense like they did, i don't think the outcome would have been the same. big ups to the ny D, they stepped up and dominated a team that was setting records all season. and as far as belichek being a sore sport and leaving the field with a second left on the clock, he was on the field shaking hands and congratulating the giants head coach, but they made him leave the field. did all of you really not see that?
