  1. he's a broad with a huge shnozz? good luck chuck with dane cook and jessica alba. LOTS of tata's in it (.)(.) oh yeah it's pretty funny, too.
  2. crazy stuff man. i've got endless respect for what you do for us over there. i know i couldn't do it, so mad props to anyone that can.
  3. first one is a picture of my buddy dan on a trip we took to the quabbin reservoir. i don't think we got one fish in the boat all day but it was one of the better trips i took last summer. there's nothing better than spending a day on the water with an old friend, catching up and spending quality time together. this one i took at sunset at a local pond. it's located right next to a railroad depot that my dad used to work at, so i'd be fishin while he was workin moving the rail cars around. i liked to rub that fact in as often as possible...
  4. an iraqi garage sale?
  5. don't forget your glow-stick necklaces and "oonsk-oonsk-oonsk" dancing shoes!
  6. we've definitely got our own unspoken set of driving laws up here. go fast or get passed! we're also pro's at a manuever we didn't invent but definitely perfected, it's called the "jersey slide". you've definitely seen it in action, i can guarantee it. a brief explanation is when there's steadily flowing traffic, but that one guy can't just move along with everyone else and has to pass every car possible, so he flies up your @ss in the fast lane, cuts across to the slow lane without slowing down an inch or using a turn signal, passes in the slow lane and cuts back across to the fast lane, again without a turn signal. be warned before you try this move though. if you slow down even 1mph or use a turn signal you're docked points and it isn't considered a full-fledged "jersey slide". also if while cutting from one side to the other, any time spent in the middle lane that is not part of a consistent movement to the other lane is grounds for losing points and you will be considered an idiot by your fellow drivers. sorry for jacking this thread, but while we're on the subject of bad driving...
  7. irish-polish mutt. my mother's maiden name is ryan, my father's name is waterman but his grandmother was straight off the boat from poland. fortunately we don't eat too much golumpki or pierogi's... yech :-/
  8. Funny, I live in a city called Manassas, We're called Manassholes ;D oh man, that one-up's our nickname, haha. i almost feel bad for you having to tell people that! ;D
  9. "masshole" is a technical term for us massachusetts residents. my name for everything else is "ninjadeathbot" which was my original aim screen name from middle school which was back in... 94? 95? somewhere around there. i was trying to think of something rad, and ninja's are pretty rad, as are robots, so a robot ninja must be pretty gnarly, right? especially if that robot ninja is a deadly one. hence ninjadeathbot...
  10. what program are you using to burn the cd?
  11. you'll definitely like that pflueger. i used the same model all last year and love it. congrats on the hookups.
  12. TMI?! :-X literally laughing out loud at that one!
  13. haha! "my neck... my back... my neck AND my back!" you might want to get a backiotomy russ!
  14. i'll be bringing 4 rods, one 6' and 3 6'6". i'm flying on airtran airways so i guess i'll just give it a go and hope they don't notice my unusually large package. (now there's something i never thought i'd be saying...)
  15. haha, i know just what you mean. it's like i'm always on edge, unless i know i'm gonna be out on the ice on the weekend, which in that case i'm happier than a pig in... well, you know. the day there's enough open water for me to throw a line in is the day i kiss the winter blues good bye.
  16. i'm not listed either... :'(
  17. seriously one of the funniest things i've ever read! like many others i googled "bass fishing" and ended up here, lurked for a while and started posting once i realized this site isn't full of idiots and @55holes. i can't believe the amount of info i've learned in the few months i've been here. i also can't believe the amount of money i've spent on gear in those months.... this really is the most informative and well-maintained forum i've ever been a part of. props to the mods and especially to glenn.
  18. I've got a few of those too. Just messin' with ya. I think reels have the least amount of influence on one's fishing. Correct though you may be..., it's like the difference between the $15 Timex or the $300 Seiko (or perhaps the $10,00???Rolex) For most of our purposes, the $15 Timex serves the same purpose with similar functionality. But the Seiko/Rolex is so much nicer to look at. Although a lot of fish that most of us catch could be caught with a Zebco 33, it's all those casts in between and the feeling of satisfaction in worksmanship that make it feel good and worth owning the good stuff sometimes. (Maybe a bit of a stretch...but not by a lot) And in the off-season, makes a nice decoration in the beloved "fishing quadrant" of the house. A lot of us, when we see the pictures and read the reviews, are unbelievers. We have to buy it and see for ourselves....and then say...."Yep, they were right about this one!!!" Nice reel...Enjoy. i've tried explaining this to my buddy countless times but it never hits home. he's happy with his $35 shakespeare ugly stik walmart combo and is always baffled when i spend $100+ on anything related to fishing. this is also the same kid that has 5 or 6 honda xr50 mini bikes in his garage, 3 or 4 vintage yamaha street bikes and numerous other 2 and 4-wheeled toys, all with $1000's upon $1000's invested into them. when i make the point "well it's no different than you and your bikes" he always retorts "yeah but those are internal combustion engines, blah blah blah..." as if that's justification to me a hobby is a hobby, regardless of how much you spend on it. i'll keep spending 100's on fishing and he'll keep spending 1000's on bikes and we'll both be happy doing what we're doing (while constantly raggin on each other for 'wasting money' on a hobby, i'm sure!)
  19. i'm pretty sure the eagle gt has a fast action to it. it's not marked on the rod or in the factory code, but it feels very similar to the HMG which does have a fast action. i forgot about topwaters when listing that stuff but those would have been included with the eagle gt.
  20. this may be a mook question, but i'm still trying to figure out which applications are best for which type of rod/reel combo. i made a list of my 4 main setups and how i plan on using them this season, and i realize some of them aren't best suited for the applications i have planned for them but i really can't be spending loads of money on different combos for every type of fishing. any suggestions on how i could better use these setups would be very welcome, as i'd like to get the most out of what i do have. 21. nice! i picked up an 8035 a couple weeks ago, hopefully yours doesn't have to sit around waiting to get used like mine has to.
