Why don't more pro's use left hand baitcasters?
so you mean to tell me that they would rather switch hands after every cast instead of learning to turn a handle with their left hand? :

Why don't more pro's use left hand baitcasters?
I've been watching a lot of Bass fishing DVD's lately and the one thing I notice that most of the pro's use a RH baitcaster but they have to switch hands after casting to retrieve. Why don't they just use a LH baitcaster? : Is there something I'm missing? With all the casts these guys make, it would seem to me that switching hands after every cast would get old.

Some Tolling motor questions
"1) A) You can......but why??" I'll be mounting this trolling motor on the front of a pontoon boat and was thinking of mounting the battery inside the rear benchseat for less clutter up front and it would keep the battery out of the way of anyone sitting the front swivel seat. Judging by the cost, I'll probably just go the battery box route and just take the battery off the boat when we use the pontoon for swimming or leisure.

Some Tolling motor questions
I just picked up a good used Minn Kota powerdrive trolling motor and since this is my first TM I have a couple of questions. 1. Is there a limit on how long the battery wires can be to run the TM? Can I mount the TM on the bow and connect it to a battery in the back of the boat that's 15' away, and if I can, What size wire should I use? 2. Are the electronics for trolling motors waterproof? My boat stays in the water all Summer long and I was wondering if it would harm the TM to leave it on the the boat or will the Summer rains eventually harm it? Thanks

Going to need a new battery: looking for suggestions
I too am starting to research what batteries I need for a new trolling motor and to replace my boat battery. I found this article quite helpful: http://gerry.vanagon.com/files/technical/how-to/select-the-right-battery.txt I noticed you mentioned that you were looking for a "Sealed Battery". Here's a cut and paste from the above article about sealed batteries: "Sealed non-gel batteries - typically don't withstand deep-cycling quite as well and don't recharge as easily as conventional wet-cell batteries." Just a heads up for ya...

Recommend a boat and trolling motor batteries
I need to replace the battery for my 25hp outboard and get a new battery for a MotorGuide 47# thrust 12v trolling motor that I'm getting. The current boat battery is a deep cycle marine battery. Do I need to replace it with a deep cycle marine battery since the outboard has an alternator? Is there anything special I have to look for when getting a deep cycle marine battery for a trolling motor? Thanks

Steering link for Trolling Motor?
Does anyone know if they make a link that connects your outboard to an electric transom mounted trolling motor? I've seen steering links setup for a gas kicker motor but not for an electric trolling motor. I'd like to mount a trolling motor next to my outboard on the back of a pontoon boat and be able to turn the trolling motor with the steering wheel.

A new way to catch fish

solar powered charger
Can you provide a website link to the chargers you use? My pontoon boat only gets used a couple weekends a month during the Summer and it would be nice to have a solar charger to keep the battery fresh.

How to clean and lube a baitcaster?
I've got a BPS Megacaster that I'd like to take apart this Winter to clean and lube it up for next season. Anyone have any advice on what lube to use and what points need lubing? Are there any websites that show the proper procedures for this? Thanks

What hook sharpener do you use?
I have a few hooks that I need to sharpen up over the winter months. I'm looking for a couple of recommendations on a good hook sharpener to purchase. I'd like to get one small enough to fit in my tackle box. Thanks.

Catching Bass at night in the Fall?
When it gets dark so early in the Fall, does this change how the Bass feed at night? During the Summer when it gets dark around 10pm I usually have real good luck fishing from dusk through the first couple hours of dark. Now when it's getting dark around 7pm I can't seem to catch any Bass at night. > This biggest thing I noticed was that you can't even hear any Bass feeding at night now. During the Summer nights you would hear a few of them jumping and splashing near the shoreline and now it's just dead calm without a Bass so much as making a ripple on the water. The first night I went out from 6:30pm to 8pm The second night I tried from 8pm till 10pm the last night I went out from 8pm till Midnight and only had one strike for the three nights and never heard one Bass surface? I did catch a lot more than normal during the early morning hours so I was wondering if they quit feeding at night and start feeding during the day? The only other thing that I think could have affected them this past weekend was that there wasn't any Moonlight and it was dark as heck. :-X During the Summer the Moonlight is so bright sometimes that you don't even need a flashlight. 8-)
