i have some in the 5.5 but i didn't get to strong of a bad smell. the smell is present but i have to stick my nose a half inch from the bait to smell it. Mine came when I opened the package. Normally you get some kind of scent smell, but the plastic smell seemed almost overwhelming. Good lord believe me i know the odor you speak of....I cant imagine a Bass is going to go anywhere near these things!
  3. I have The Bass Pros DVD but what station does it come on? Also when is Day on the lake on?
  4. Those wake baits look nice! Heres another delivery from the Monkey:
  5. max, not the same tourny. The one im speaking of is sponsored by the bass club i'm in. Its just for fun and to raise a few extra funds for the club.
  6. yeah tony, i was definately figuring jerkbait...I remember catching a lot of pickerel when the first Slug-o' came out.......I always thought in-line spinners were good too. thanks for the input

  8. I know we all catch Pickerel on Bass baits but do you guys know any good baits that would do very well for Pickerel? I dont fish for them but gonna be in Pickerel tourny in April for fun... Swiss Swings? Red Devil? Red Eye? i've no idea..... thanks
  9. 3\4 oz Xacalibur in Royal Red
  10. i'm waiting for a few Xcalibur lipless cranks and few Lucky Craft pointers to get dropped off by the mailman
  11. thanks for the input fellas....Guess i'll try and clean em up with some water before my first outing.....These really do look and feel great without the high pricetag. very well made.....And yeah BPS has them here: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=98283&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Though i picked mine off of eBay for a little cheaper.
  12. dang! you take this fishing thing seriously! haha, wow nice setup
  13. I picked up a pack of these and am very impressed with the looks and feel of them, they feel very durable. Of course I dont have a real Basstrix to compare it to. The one problem i see with them is the odor! I cant see a fish coming anywhere near these. They smell like Ether or some kind of gas or something. Anyone know if Basstrix have an odor like this? Any idea of something i can do to eliminate the odor? Wash in water and then soak in some attractant for a while? anything?
  14. well, maybe instead of keeping all my tubes together in this bag and craws in that bag i'll just make bags by color.....Need a wateremelon tube, go to the watermellon color bag.....Could be tough though, be like reachin into a bag of camoflauge...take some time to find what you need.
  15. Do any of you mix softplastics in a ziplock to save space? Is there any problems with colors blending into others? My plastics pouch is way out of room and i cant see caryying around 2-3 of these things so i was just gonna start mixing bags together to save room.
  16. .....between Flukes and a Jerkshad ? they look like the same thing. is it just a manufacturer' choice of what they call it?
  17. i dont know if i boycotted, but i dont buy Rebel lures...Just dont like how they look. Wont buy a strike king spinnerbait....Just terrible luck with them and getting them to run straight
  18. Funny reading all these posts. The Fat Ika was my big fish producer this year. First time using it caught a nice 4 lber. Seems different lures just work better in different waters. I think its a difference in technique. It might feel like your doing the samething as others but your not really. Example: Another lure i catch very little with is a jig, but a buddy right next to me can clean up on them, so its not the waters - its my technique. I dont understand the whole spinnerbait thing though. To me you just throw it in the water and bass eat it. All the time!
  19. For what its worth: One of my first baitcasters was a very cheap Daiwa in the $40 range....It lasted a long time and worked well. Never tried the others Plus , if u need a left hand retrieve the Daiwa is the only one with it out of your choices here.
  20. topwater baits, no luck with spooks, frogs, jitterbugs, buzzbaits, props etc..... -
  21. Yes, you have to actually order it and get to the checkout screen for the Secure "padlock" screen
  22. and like baitMS said: It gives you free shipping for your whole order. Stock up on all the stuff you need
  23. isnt this like a "wake" spinnerbait type thing, running just barely under the surface?
  24. add to that, its free shipping
  25. Like? (I've never used braid)
