  1. I'm coming up Thursday night. Will bring my boat. Catt, you can go ahead and add Mike Goodsen (Long Mike) from Tulsa to the list. He will have his boat to. He is at the Bassmaster University thing in Dallas this weekend so he cannot answer yet. I talked to him on the phone last night and he will be there. I'll vote for either the 6 mile ramp or Fin & Feather Lodge for weighin. I would like it if we are allowed to trailer. Those fish up at Carrice Creek might just be willing to hit something. Jack
  2. Way past due. I enjoyed it for the first year or three. Just got stale to me. You can only argue so many times before it gets old. Thankfully I have not watched it in several years.
  3. Catt, our club owns the old TABC live release trailer with the glass sides. We use it for the Thursday evening tournament over on Rayburn. If some one wants to go hook it up and pull it to Toledo I'm sure we can use it. We need a lot more people for that though. This thing has all the aerators to do the job as well as pumps to fill it. We just back it down a ramp, throw the 6" hose off the back and it fills in about 5 minutes.
  4. Our club scales reside 45 minutes from there. I'm sure I can get them if we need them.
  5. Go to: www.lowrance.com You can look up any unit they have made.
  6. That's good to Catt. Like I said I'm ready. Just let me know who to pay, how much, when, and where. Heck, let's do the Saturday and a half day on Sunday. Each day can be seperate with a total weight each day and BB each day. Or, just go two day total and BB 1 & 2 for the weekend.
  7. I rarely do.Not just before tournaments either, it can be any night before going out on the water. Up all hours of the night. My wife thinks I'm nuts. I may have to find a support group for this disease if that's what it is. LOL. Is it me or do ya'll have this problem? Jack
  8. Ask him if I can claim half of his couch. Wesley that's fine with me.
  9. I agree. You have to consider though that most game violation cases seldom get to the court procedings. Most are let off with very little damage to their pocket book and they are right back out there doing the same things. It's at least a move to finally force some teeth into the laws and hopefully the beginning of a set of stronger actions taken against these crooks. At the very least he should have lost his hunting/fishing priviledges for life, payment to replace the deer, and lots more time behind bars. Another note, the deer has been replaced. A vet in the San Antonio area that has a breeding program donated one to the park. These type of people are not hunters or fishermen. Just plain old crooks.
  10. If the lake is on a rise the inside lines could be even better...
  11. I'm up for donating whatever ya'll want to do. Told the wife I would be gone a few days and she was fine with it(Not that it would have mattered though). Catt, we need to invite Pat Miller to.
  12. Heck guys, I was tickled to death. I figured he would get little probation if even that. Finally, maybe someone will start taking a stronger stance against these jerks. Most game violations in this area git off with a slap on the wrist and a small fine(If that), so when this came down I was very happy to see that someone finally noticed.
  13. Tournament fish get weighed on a Berkley scale. Otherwise no, unless it is around 5+, then I will check them.
  14. Nope, didn't shoot him. Crawled in the pen and when the deer charged him and gored him he stabbed it in the heart. Cut the head off and took it to his apartment with him. He entered with the intention of killing. He wanted the rack.
  15. Brandon E. Gregory was sentenced to 18 months confinment in state jail and lost his hunting/fishing license for 5 years yesterday in a Houston court. Mr. Buck, as the deer was known, was a pen raised buck that everyone enjoyed on their trips to the park. He had a 10 point rack and allowed the children to scratch his back through the fence. The attorney stated in court that in all his years he had never tried anyone that was more hated in the community. Great job Harris county(Houston) for a job well done. Wish it could have been more. Due to the felony conviction he will no longer be able to hold his job as an insurance adjuster in the state. Sorry for the rant. Just hate what this guy did to this community. Jack
  16. I'm ready to go.
  17. OK, I agree with you on that. Personally I never let it get to me. Just think it ought to not be allowed. Then we would see which anglers have it together.
  18. Very nice Alan. Only concern might be vibration. Wouldn't haul it down the road with the unit mounted. Question, will it swivel?
  19. Wesley we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I can understand it if it is on a lake you are somewhat familiar with, but explain this to me. Pick a lake you are not familiar with, Rayburn, Palestine, Choke, Fork, etc. Lake is off limits from Sunday night until Friday morning practice. Weather fronts have moved through several times over the last five days, water is up, and turning off color. Winds expected to blow(Naturally). You do your home work like map study, internet searches, and possibly call a few friends to gather as much information as possible. You hit the lake Friday morning with map in hand and spend time learning how to navigate unfamiliar water. You pick a creek and start fishing down it, run into a big flat searching for the first drop, and you fish it a while. You have caught a couple and punch in the GPS cordinates, make a run up or down lake and fish some more spots. This takes up the day and you feel pretty good about it. You have located four spots as possibilities. Another competitor has hired a guide for the day. He lets his paying customer know in advance the most promising lures to have tied on. That first creek you found a few fish in is in fact a good one. Instead of fishing the 100-200 yard section you took the time to fish the guide runs straight to the sweet spot, lines the boat up, and tells you what to throw, and where; took him 15 minutes. You write the cordinates down and the guide moves on, stopping over a submerged tree out off the river in 30' and lets you mark it. When the day is over, you have 22 coordinates, the hot lures, shortcuts through the flats, timber, and creeks. He has paid the guide, and offered him a percentage of the winnings from tommorrows tournament. The guide says, "Well, if that's the case, let me show you my best spots and the time you need to be there". I would like you, or anyone else explain how you feel this is fair, or an even playing field. I have no problem fishing against guides. Do it all the time. I do have a problem with competitors hiring a guide to fish with during the prefish. ***Not all guides are good tournament fishermen either*** Thanks, Jack
  20. We do it a lot down here. Takes some getting use to, but it will get it through the mat. Keep the lure sprayed with an attractant, it will help it slide through easier. Good luck
