Start Up Bait Shop Thread
Good advice Sam. I would do that a little down the line. Right now I am just trying to archive some information. I am young, and in college debt as it is. I would really like to have my own fishing business at some point down the line.

HDTV What do I need
I work at Circuit City, and personally my favorite TV by FAR is the Sony xbr series. They are pricey, but the picture is ridiculously good. I also suggest a monster power cleaner. I have also heard no complaints about the cables either, but you have some good info on the cables so go with that.

Video Camera?
Are you interested in an HD video camera? If so you need quite a bit of things. Either way you go I would suggest a better battery, case, possibly a memory card if the camera you have has decent still shots capability. If you go with an HD camera you will need other things such as a bluray player/hd tv/hdmi cables.

Downloading music
I work at an electronics store, and I recommend Napster to people. What I suggest is just paying the monthly/yearly subscription. Napster is fast, has a huge downloadable library, and is safe. Limewire does get give you some viruses. If you use limewire use ad-aware, and a good virus protection program.

Game Wardens...
muddy does his name resemble moron? I have had a problem on Mauch Chunk as well. I have told you about it in the past. I took that "mook" to court and won my case. Similar sitiuation, but during ice fishing. He fined me for something everyone else was doing, and I asked him why me and not them. I will fix his back one day for him...

Melting wheel weights
You would go through propane quick. Maybe a fire under a cast iron pot? I forget the temp. the lead needs to melt.

Is it ignorance or laziness?
This whole subject irritates me. I am not even going to pretend that I know the English language in and out so feel free to tear apart my message. I could really care less. People on bassresource come from all parts of the world, society, and have different education levels. Do you honestly expect 15,000 members to know how to type the English language perfectly? When your out in the real world do you insult others around you about how they talk? Get over it mike honestly. I heard your story a couple months ago stating your concerns of how people type on bassresource. You have goals that are unrealistic. We have members ranging from teens to older adults. Some of us are factory works, some in college, and some successful business people.

Melting wheel weights
I used a 20lb lead capacity pot for my wheel weights. All I did was through some weights in, and let them melt down. I would then use a spoon and clean out all the junk such as the steel clips. Then I would poor some into my molds and keep feeding them in, and cleaning.

Ebensburg, Pa?
Sam it is exactly the place you are talking about. You have a great memory! That big pond is stocked with trout.

Ebensburg, Pa?
Yellow Creek isn't far away. I would suggest fishing there.

fishing quantico
I have fished near the base from boat. If you are fishing from shore it will be a bit different. If it is low tide, and the grass is up throw a buzzfrog or hollow body frog. If high tide throw shallow crank, spinnerbait, pop-r, senko, or a buzzbait. Really whatever your comfortable with.

Centre County PA
I am currently a student at Penn State. I am originally from Northeast PA. Due to living in State College year round it is hard to get out on the boat other than for tournaments. I would really like to find a fishing partner in the area. I fish for everything from trout to bass to stripers. I am looking for someone to fish with that knows the area. I would be willing to travel and pay partial gas money for a boat. If anyone is in the area please PM me.

places to fish in PA (poconos)??
I have fished a lot of those lakes. I have a cabin on Promised Land Lake. If you are looking to catch loads of fish go with Promised Land. The size isn't there yet, but it is getting better over the years. It is a shallow lake deepest about 10 feet at the dam. I personally don't like Peck's pond, but there are some good size fish in there (pickerel/bass). Beltzville is a bit of a drive from canadensis. If you are looking for bigger water look into Fairview or even Lake Wallenpaupack. If you plan on fishing Beltzville shoot me a PM I will help you with some community holes. I can help you with Promised Land, but the majority of the fish are scattered.

GPS for car
Simplejoe could you tell me about some features you like in TomTom that garmin doesn't have? This is simply for my knowledge to help me sell them. Also how does that password work? You just buy a one time password, and can update whenever you want?

night fishing for trout
I have heard from multiple people that this is the way to get big browns. I live in an area where a couple famous fly fisherman live. They have all fished at night with fly, and caught some MONSTER native browns. When you figure it out let me in on it!

GPS for car
From personal experience it is hard to know the ins and outs of every unit out there. There are so many units that are very similar. I am almost positive that you need to pay for updates on every make. I think the TomTom at least comes with the USB cord which costs about $29. The Garmin's don't! I also think that the TomTom updates are cheaper then the others. Either way Olebiker you have bought your wife a very nice unit!

Pa bass waters ranked by density.
I have fished Raystown, Sayers, Wilhelm, Yellow Creek, Beltzville, Mauch Chunk, Promised Land, Pecks pond, Lake Minisink and the Yough. I have heard amazing things about shenango, glendale, and marsh creek. Zel would know more about marsh creek. The lakes I listed that I have fished are all great lakes with healthy populations! Some of the reports are off though, they have beltzville listed as smallmouth only. There is a huge largemouth population there. Also 947 acres seems off. Also they have Promised Land Upper as ranked in the 70's. That lake has a ridiculous amount of fish in it. If the report was quantity over quality it would be top 10 for the Medium reservoir section. Overall this report was very interesting thanks for posting!

GPS for car
Can you show me where online where it says the map updates are free? I was almost positive that you have to pay for them. I checked on the TomTom website, and went to the maps and there is a fee. I know there is a map share option. So you and another person with a tomtom can share maps (which is free), but I don't know about free updates. http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=1&PID=1679&SID=0&CID=224-227&Language=4&FID=9079

GPS for car
I have worked with Magellan, TomTom, Garmin, Sony, and Mio. Personally I would either go with the Garmin or TomTom. It depends on what you prefer. The Garmin is extremely well organized. Some of the Garmin's have more features than others. What I suggest to the basic users is text to speech and a wide screen. I personally like the Garmin 260W for the basic users . Some other models have other options such as traffic control ready, MP3, picture viewer, and bluetooth compatible. The 200 and 200W won't tell you street names, but are the cheaper models. It will say something such as turn right in .3 miles. It won't say turn right on Mill Road in .3 miles. If you are a control freak you may be interested in the Tom Tom's. They have features such as finding POI (Point of Interest) on route, nearby, and near destination. They are faster when retrieving POI's as well. They have some features Garmin's don't have. My suggestion is to go to the store and play around with them. Everyone has there own preference, but I sell mostly Garmin units. Like Jake_P said the Garmin's are incredibly easy to navigate. You can find find food specific restaurants such as Italian, BBQ, Asian, and etc.. You can find gas stations, recreation, bank/ATM, shopping, parking, etc.. You can search for a specific location via the name. You can input a specific address, and hit go and it will take you there. It will tell you the ETA to the location, and it also will update while driving. One thing I will say about all GPS units is that you need to work with them. If you know a better route, and the GPS is telling you to do something different go your route. You need to work with them, and once you are on your route the GPS will recalculate to going your route. I bought my GPS after I got lost in New York city after a Mets/Phillies game. I use it for tournaments every weekend, and I love it. I also save the launches on the GPS to find in the future. I sell GPS and car audio equipment everyday at work. If you have any questions PM me. I have been drilled with questions from multiple customers, so like I said if you need anything PM me.
