Suspended Fish And Boathouses
So after the early sqaurebill bite died off this morning and the 102 degree sun came out we headed for horizontal cover and or deep water. We started fishing a marina and was pitching into and around all of the boat houses and boats. Started off good catching 4 quick ones. I was throwing a 3/8 oz jig and my father in law was throwing a 1/4 t rigged red shad worm. We were in about 20 FOW. Im assuming the fish were suspended because our lures were only falling about half way down when we were getting bit. After those quick 4, there was nothing. We fished the entire marina probably pitching into 100 spots multiple times. Finally called it a day as it was WAY too hot with no cloud cover. As soon as we pulled away, 2 guys fishing a tourney came in where we finished at and pulled in 3 quick ones before we made our way out and around the corner. It got me to thinking, what was i doing wrong? My question is, what do yall use for suspended fish in a situation like this? Should i try a 1/4 oz jig so it falls a little slower and stays in front of there face longer? Or am i over thinking it and just need to shut up? I just keep picturing them pulling in bass where i pitched to 6 times in a row without a bite. Thanks yall.

Do You Spank Your Kid(S)?
First off, you were a LOT nicer than i would have been to the woman who corrected you while discipling YOUR kid. Her ears would have been bleeding. I remember hearing from a cop a while ago that as long as there is no blood or cuts above or below the waist, it is called discipline. I got my ace WHOOOOOOOPED by my dads big rodeo belt.....and buckle, more than a couple times. He used to tell me "your about to get your ass whooped son" so i would go in my room and put on all the underwear i had LOL. Now i would never do my kids the way i was done becausei think it was a little harsh. I never got hit anywhere but on the butt and it was never abuse. But that belt was a little bit bigger than big. As for if i spank my kids or not, sort of. My daughter is 1 so no. My son however is going on 3 so he has his moments. I never spank him out of anger, only when i give him a choice and he chooses wrongly. And even then i wouldnt call it a spank so much as a "hard tap". Just enough to get his attention. If i have to, its always only once and he is a gentlemen for the rest of the day.

What Crankbaits Do You Like?
I like Bomber myself. I have a Rapala or 2 and some 5 and 6xd strike king cranks i never really use because i dont do much deep cranking. I usually throw cranks in 0-8 FOW. I actually have some Academy brand h20 square bills that i wouldnt mind having more of. But i am pretty fond of bomber.

I just picked up some abrazx over the invizx that i hear so much about. Its nice to finally hear something about Abrazx. I just finished trying vicious flouro and i wasnt to pleased. It was the first flouro ive tried so i dont know if im expecting too much or the Vicious really wasnt just for me. Hopefully im happy with Abrazx. Buying Yo Zuri is cheap. Buying Flouro is NOT.

Rod For Senkos, Casting Jigs Up To 1/2Oz, And Texas Rigs
I have only fished the crucial out of all of those and i love it. Im not sure how the XF would be too stiff but the F wouldnt? XF would have more give then a F action. In the crucials case i would go with the XF. I had a 6'6" MH XF i used for plastics a while ago and it was awesome.

Jig Sizes
I am always, hearing guys throwing 1/2 Oz and 3/4 oz. jigs. When do y'all throw 1/4 oz or 3/8 oz? Does water depth come into play when selecting weight like it does with a Texas rigged worm? Or do you throw a 1/2 oz jig n craw in 5 ft of water? just wanting to hear you're personal preferences. Thanks y'all.

What's Everyone Using To Organize Your Soft Plastics?
Here, this is what i use.I currently have 2 of these in my bag full of plastics like trailers, worms, creatures etc. Like i mentioned before, all the plastics are kept in their original packages and then put inside the box. I also have a plano box full of cranks, a box with jigs and another terminal tackle box. I keep my spinnerbaits in a soft binder in the side of my bag. http://www.basspro.com/Plano-3731-Bulk-Storage-Box/product/1552/39856

Any Tips For Catching Big Bass 4Lbs+ On Senkos??
Its not about lure presentation as much as location. If your catching small ones then your presentation is working. You just need to find the big girls. Like K_mac mentioned try a larger worm (10") or a jig and craw. These generally produce less bites b ut will result in bigger fish. With that being said, i caught my PB 5.4oz on a smokey shad shim e stick which is a strike king version of a senko. Not huge but a decent size when the average fish in my lake is around 1-4 lbs.

Berkley Havoc Pit Boss
I fish the same color the same way. Flip and pitch mainly. Yes it can be used as a trailer. skeet reese the designer does so I would say yes. I personally don't but you can. Pitching to cover with them has been the best producer for me. T rigged with a 1/4 Oz weight.

What's Everyone Using To Organize Your Soft Plastics?
I do the same. If I was on my laptop not my phone I would show you the exact Plano box. It is just a deep box with no dividers. Keep them in their bags and store them in Plano box. I have 2-3 in my tackle bag full of plastics. Best system I have seen or used. Its prefect.

No Work For A Week
Heading out tomorrow to the beach with the family for a week and man I cant wait! I have 2 little ones so we havent had the opportunity to actually take a vacation. Now that my boy is going on 3 and my little girl just turned 1 last month we decided to go. They are very well behaved and cooperative so i think it should be a blast. I am excited to be able to take my kids on vacations like this since i never had the chance to when i was a kid. Makes me feel like im doing something right as a parent. We got a condo on the beach for a week and are meeting some of my wifes family down there since they live less than an hour from where were going. plan on surf fishing, having a few cold ones and doing a whole lot of nothing! Yall take it easy back in the real world, i will be back soon....

Beginner Set Of Lures
I agree with everyones response. I would say you did pretty well though. Everything you purchased deffiniteley has a place in most bass anglers tackle box. I would recommend getting some senkos or yum dingers. Senkos are the original version stickbait and the yum dingers are a "knock off" i guess you could say. They both work IMO. The Yum dingers are a bit more affordable. Either one you get will catch fish, and plenty of them. "senkos" in general are fish catching machines. I would get a couple bags and some 3/0 offset ewg hooks. Texas rig them weightless. Fish can not resist them. They basically fish themselves. Cast it out, let it sink to the bottom and let it sit. Raise your rod tip up about 8 inches and then let it sink back down and pause for about 10 seconds. Very easy and very effective. Good luck!
