  1. Unfortunatly I have caught a lot that when I released them they only had one eye. I use a #4 EWG hook and the smaller fish tend to get hooked in that area.
  2. Come on in the waters fine.
  3. Winter Jigs Spring Spinnerbaits & Super Flukes Summer Buzzbaits & Senkos Fall Spinnerbaits & Buzzbaits & cranks
  4. Central Ar. Senkos by day Buzzbaits by night. The big ones are hitting the buzz about an hour before dark.
  5. When you get your wife a new complete baitcasting rig for X-Mas and she don't even fish.
  6. Somewhere between a 5 and 6 and just when I think I might be a 7 the fish show me that a 4 might be in my future. I can catch fish everytime I go out but catching the big ones everytime is a different story.
  7. One 7.5 pound LM on a white spinner bait, two years ago. I caught two 6 pounders this year one on buzzbait and one on sizmic frog. never been SM fishing.
  8. Braver than I am. My luck a stick would brush my leg and I would drown myself trying to get to the bank.
  9. Fishinaz you may have come into your silver lined cloud. As sweetwater said many birds will move fish from water to water, and if you know there was bass 10 years ago then short of it drying up or being poisoned it should still have bass in it. Possible some good ones. I would float the water because everyone else is fishing in the one spot you mentioned. The only way I would not float it is the chance of gators like sweetwater said. If its an old rock quarry, its probably deep with lots of rock bottom, I'm sure some of it has filled in with silt but not much. Good luck with the fishin and with the 3 mile hike.
  10. The book was a decent read and I do see where he comes from now more than I did. With that being said I think a person can get very excited about a fish that my win him 10,000 dollars, without moonwalking across the deck of his boat. No dout he is a good fisherman but super loud yelling and screaming does get old. Just my opinion.
  11. When in doubt set the hook, swings are free. I set the hook like I'm going to be hanging over a cliff from it and I don't want it to come unhooked. I learned the hard way that weeny arming a hook set will break your heart when an 8 pounder comes up spits your worm back at you and then gives you the fen before swimming away.
  12. I'm up for it, this sounds like a great plan. Sturgis of bass fishing that sounds great. Even a small % could go back into this site or into the next years needs for the 2nd annual bass resourse master classic.
  13. Coach I don't see a problem with it at all as a matter of fact I have done the same thing with my parents some years ago. I tried to make the pond a good fishery for my kids and neices and nephews. When the kids are interested in hunting and fishing and not running the streets I think it is a great thing. Plus if we were running in short supply of fish I'm sure the game and fish comm would reduce the amount we could keep. I think what you're doing is a good thing.
  14. Hey 22 if the water is muddy I'd try a spinner bait something dark with a colarodo blade, esp around feeder creeks. Hope it helps.
  15. Locate the water source for this pond or at least where the water runs in when it rains, try a horny toad or sizmic frog cast to where the water enters and work the bait out slowly. This usually works for me, if no try a shallow crank in bream colors or super fluke.
  16. I feel the same as jerkbait and rebbasser, thanks for sharing the info guys.
  17. Here is what I do I say babe I'm going fishing no I didn't cut the grass or till the garden or fold any clothes. I had more important things to do like respool my new reel and replace some hooks on my favorite crankbait...........Then when she gets home and she is actually there in front of me I say pleassssssssssse can I go fishing. No, really the other guys have nailed it. Its a lot of give and take. The more you give usually the more you receive. Good luck.
  18. I don't think they get smarter just more wary.
  19. If its a lite rain I try a topwater, and if its harder I'll swim a jig.
  20. I like company but I'll fish alone too.
  21. OH Yea I was going to say it was about 50/50 fish with eggs to fish without.
  22. Here in central Ar. the bite has picked up. My brother and I went this last week end (pond hopping) I caught three 5 pounders, one 4 pounder and several 1 to 1-1/2 My three baits were white spinner bait with orange and char blades, black and blue jig, and white super fluke. All in All we caught about 30 pounds of fish.
  23. Great Post. My dad pasted away a couple of years ago and we never got to do much outdoor stuff togather. However I've been taking my mom fishing once or twice a month since dad died. She had a stroke about 3 years ago and has never fully recovered. I enjoy spending time with her and helping her when she will let me. she is very independent. Bought her fishing licence for her for mothers day.
  24. Well guys most of your ideas sound good. I been thinking about ivesting in some plastic worm molds. Anyone ever mess around with that. From what i understand you can reuse old plastic. Is it worth the trouble. Lookin for Lunkers.
