  1. 2hrs till Bearcats play. Any fans on here?
  2. New laptop,$375 in BPS gift cards, and a 12 week old yellow lab. Lol, puppy is kids present, but since they are only 5 I think I know who will be taking care of him.
  3. I would have to agree with mid april to may suggestion. We go every year this time and have a blast. Merry Christmas
  4. I'm with the minority on this one. When I was using P-line and tried the kvd it does something to the line after about a week. I store my rods on my boat deck in my garage. When I would go to use them the line would be alot stiffer and would look milky. I have since switched to Segaur, but I haven't tried kvd with it. I dont know if it works or not, but I do just fine with out it.
  5. I like fishing jigs, worms, crankbaits, buzzbaits, and spinnerbaits at night. I use spinnerbaits with a good size colorado blade for vibration, crainkbaits with rattles or wide wobble, jigs with rattles and big trailors for bulk and vibration. This is just what I like to throw and I have done well with them. Throw what you are confident with and you will catch fish.
  6. Next time out I will try to get better pictures. I visited the link and I'm not sure if that is it or not. I have never seen any blooms, flowers,or stems like the link described.
  7. Yes it was a cell phone camera. They didn't turn out as well as I was hoping.
  8. Here is a few pics of what I found this morning on and around the boat ramp of my home lake. I am hoping someone can identify it and tell me a few things about it. 1) What is it? 2) How deep can it grow? 3) Is it good or bad to have in my lake? The lake is around 50 acres. It is located just north of Cincinnati. I did not see much of a root system on it when i held it. I have picked up a few strands of it with a crankbait earlier in the year, but now it seems to be floating in some areas. Any ideas?

  10. I am very sad that no one has said the Bengals are their team. Come on guys. Bengals------- 10-6
  11. Guntersville has been great to me the last 2 Years. It is unbelievable what you can catch on that lake right now. I live north of Cincinnati and I have been to G 5 times this year and have another planned for October. Im glad to hear you had a good trip. If you want one even better go in late April or early May.
  12. It sounds like your kinda on the fence about which one you prefer. ;D
  13. The fish were suspended about 4 to 5 feet off of the hump. Some higher and some a little lower. On my dropshot rig, my hook was about 3.5' from my sinker. I was marking the fish and dropping straight down using my sonar.
  14. They were located anywhere from 13' to 18' deep. These fish were suspended over and around a nice hump not far from a ditch line. I have always wanted to practice these techniques but never follow thru. I am glad I did just to get some experience fishing like this. I think the real key was baitfish everywhere.
  15. Very interested in this thread also. I have not tried a newer curado in years. I'm a big zillion fan,but there has been alot of good things said about the curado. So please keep up the info.
  16. Don't know if you've done any searches here on the forums for "mendit", cause if you had, you would have known that you won't find "mendit" at walgreens. Look closely at the package or bottle. Betcha it says "Mighty Mendit" a whole different product. I know they are different products. I was fishing a tourney and my partner suggested the "Mighty Mendit" as an alternative. He claimed it was just as good and was cheaper. So I decided to give it a try. My recommendation to everyone else is not to try it. Save your $9.99 and buy the real stuff. I am still mad I cut a senko in half to try it. >
  17. Ok so I went to walgreens and bought this to test it out. I still can not glue my senko back together. So far I have wasted $9.99 and one senko. I think my tourney partner was full of sh**. ;D
  18. Great video, Very informative since I have zero confidence in a spinnerbait. I have not found the right combination of color and blade selection for my home lake. I have found at night with a big single blade bumping the bottom works great, but during the day I can't catch a fish on one. I have had great luck on a rocket shad early in the spring, but not on regular spinnerbaits. Any suggestions?

x2. I got Costa Del mar fathom with green mirror lens. I've had mine for 4 years and going the lens are same as the day I bought them. Life time warranty on them is pretty good, but I have yet to used it. Green Mirror has amber lens, so you might want consider Blue Mirror glasses for more light blockage. X3 Took members advice about these and man what a difference they make. Had them about a month and I am very pleased.
  20. A guy I fished a tourney with said walgreens and cvs sell it for $9.99. I havent checked. I dont know what size bottle.
  21. Jig seems to catch bigger fish for me.
  22. Went out this morning for a little fun. Home lake has been kinda slow until I finally figured them out. I think it was me not knowing how to adjust. Fished from 5:30 am until sun was up high and the bite shut down hard. I trolled around looking for humps holding baitfish or marking fish. I accomplished 3 goals today. 1. Caught fish on a DT 20. (I never crank deep) 2. Caught fish with a dropshot. (First time trying this technique) 3. Caught fish on a spoon. (First time trying this technique) Biggest fish was 4lb 12 oz. Total for the day was 31 bass and 2 crappie. Though I did not catch a whole lot of big fish it was good trying something new and it actually worked. I finally called it quits at 2pm when the air temp got over 90 and I wussed out. I dont think the A/C in my truck ever felt so good.
  23. Congrats on your catch
  24. Does the CBR845 handle the bigger cranks good?. I have the CBR843 and it is great for shallow. Also what about the 7' length? Is that a long enough rod to get long casts and try to get baits down deep?
  25. I had 2 Browning Sideflex. One 6'6" and one 7'. I replaced the 6'6" with a loomis and I love it, but it will not handle the bigger baits. It is good for the shallow to medium.
