When the email first came out, Shimano and Loomis was included. After a day or so, when the sale was opened to the general public, more companies were added to the excluded list. This weekend I picked up my first Dobyns, a DX703. I also bought a Core 51, a pair of Costas, jigs, Ribbits, an Ima Skimmer, a Plano 3780, Beast hooks, a bunch of different soft swimbaits, a line stripper, a 115 LC Gunfish, and some tungsten.

How strong are the hooks on this jig?

I prefer braid over the fused Fireline any day of the week. Braid is much more manageable, where Fireline is too much like piano wire for my taste. JMO.

Most of them are the ba$tard children of reality tv.

I believe these frames are not part of Costa's current lineup, and was wondering what size face they fit? Usually medium frames fit me well. As a comparison, the Oakley Monster Pups fit me quite well ***Rather than starting another thread, I'll post my lens question here: is there a big difference between the Costa copper and vermillion lenses? I know the copper is a 580 lens, so the quality is better than the 400 vermillion. I am curious if the characteristics of the two colors are quite similar? Is the copper much darker than the vermillion? Is the copper as effective as the vermillion on overcast days, or is the copper a bit too dark for overcast conditions? -Thanks 8-)

I hope someone will eventually prove me wrong, but four bills for this 'new' reel is ridiculous. Also, what makes it a Type-R? Is it really tuned like other Type-R's? I haven't read anything that confirms this. In the event that this reel is R tuned, wouldn't it make more sense to sell a R+ tuned Zillion to the masses?

I'd start with some Terminator spinnerbaits. I use them in our WI waters because of the pike...those fish LOVE spinnerbaits. I was getting sick of having small hammer handles ruining expensive spinnerbaits, so I went with Terminator. Some people have had problems with their swivels, but I haven't had any problems in the years that I've fished 'em.

I don't have to be tanked to get a hangover. Back in the day, that was a different story. As we get older, things aren't as easy as they used to be. I can remember several times when I only had 2-3 beers, and felt like crap the next day.

Most of the time, no. Luckily I am not a puker...I got that out of the way in high-school. LOL. On the other hand, in my experiences, there have been many times where it was worth the next day hell. These are in the minority, but man, too many classic stories from these booze-fueled parties/sporting events/nights/etc.

I pretty sure I will not be able to attend the trip. My mom has grown gravely ill, and I need to care for her. I appreciate all the wok putting this thing together Koop. I was really hoping to see some Dobyns rods up-close; nobody in these parts carry them.
