I would try a product called Plumber's Goop. Made for fixing plumbing, so it is waterproof. goes on like silicone, but dries very hard, like an epoxy. I used it to mount a plastic cup in my kayak to be filled with water and mounted my transducer in it. Has been working for over 5 years. Comes in a tube kind of like tooth paste size, and is resealable for future repairs. Strong stuff, follow the instructions.

Instead of qualifying, and the top 35 thingy, do what we do in dirt racing. Advance through heat races. Tony Stewart suggested the same thing. Far more interesting and won't take longer than single car qualifying. Race to get in, or go home.

Take the positive post off, hold it to a ground (any good ground will do) for 1 min. This will reset the computer. It will take about 50 restarts to reset values on the computer. It will also clear any codes.
