  1. Hey BC, Did you ever think about working at Bass Pro? You are young it would be great to get into a line of work you enjoy, a job where you look forward to go to. Bass Pro seems like they are doing good, the store near you seems busy. Just a thought. Think of the employee discount!
  2. Congratulations!!! You DO know you are going to have to share your fishing stuff soon. Hope Mom and son are happy and healthy.
  3. Good idea
  4. Sorry to hear of your loss. I have had many dogs in my life, been involved in rescue for many years and have fostered quit a few. Still breaks my heart when it happens. Few joys in life can match the friendship of a dog. You will find a "best friend for life" when the time is right.
  5. Only 72 MPH? Need more speed than that for a fishing boat. :-?
  6. Vick had money and so did Plaxico and they went to prison. Stallworth and LT got hand-slaps and they're rich too. Vick didn't get the time he deserved at all and he's right back playing football. Obviously I don't have a "normal" job but if I did and I was busted running a dogfighting ring I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to find a new job when I got out of work that didn't involve burgers or a mop. X2 >
  7. Would work better if you tied a line to the rear of one, to the next one's eye. That is used in flyfishing. You could also try using a Zoom trick worm with a top water bait of your choice.
  8. Mine were duds too. Maybe cause the Ct. store opened recently I guess.
  9. Elvis just entered the room
  10. Try dot jigs and maggots. When you find them, action will be fast and furious.
  11. I have seen some great deals in the flea market section of BR. I would trust people here long before I would trust someone on E Bay.
  12. safety pin & 1oz. sinker
  13. Dog is the best part of that wreck
  14. Good one, this reminds me of that movie "Homeward Bound" Michael J Fox played one of the dogs.
  15. I have 5 freshwater combos and I've been fishing for over 30 years. My wife thinks I have a lot yeah, ok whatever you say dear. That's 5 that I rotate through, not counting what gets retired. My boss swears by Ugly Stiks. He uses them for saltwater where sensitivity really doesn't matter. They gotta be doing something right as long as they've been around. Don't let him fool you, BC has a TON of fishing stuff. He's just worried his father might log on and find out
  16. I keep my stuff for a long time (forever!) maintain it well, so it's worth it to me to choose quality stuff.
  17. There are some great deals on rods in the flea market right now. Never was a fan of Ugly Sticks. But I love that commercial with the guy's wife trying to destroy the rod.
  18. Yeah, you probably have more stuff than anybody else here. You are way past Walmart quality.
  19. BC, what are you like 10 min. from BPS? I was there over Christmas(1st time ever at BPS) that place is packed with everything. You shouldn't complain.
  20. I have a hard time feeling bad for the teachers having to go a couple extra weeks before a 2 month break. Let's see you get to set at home and not work when it snows and is extremely cold and you also get to set at home and not work when it is extremely hot during the summer. You can do this while you make fun of the mechanic and repair men that work on your things because they are not educated and dumb. My sister and s-i-l who are both teachers know not to even try and complain about their jobs or poke fun at those who don't teach. Especially since I work on their cars and do most of the repair work around their houses. They sit around on their time off, while you fix their cars and houses? That DOES make them smarter than you! :
  21. I use white PP myself, but you can use a magic marker on any color. Gonna fade anyway
  22. So how many yards are you putting in the spool? I use half a spool of a 150 yd. PP. That's 75 yds. 225 ft. You are not likely to cast more than that, if you get a fish that will run more than that, you have the mono backing.
  23. My thoughts exactly. Braid will last a long time, no need to flip it around in the Spring. Good or bad, I have a lot of set ups. Half a spool with mono backing works for me.
  24. Backing (mono or tape) is used to keep the braid from slipping around the spool. Leaders can be used, but a lot of people don't feel it necessary especially in water that is not crystal clear. You should try it, bet you will like it.
