If you're seeing largemouth bass in the 8-10 lbs range, you better start fishing that lake more often. The Ontario record is 10.43 lbs and has been that way since 1976.

The absolute worst thing you could do with a C-rig. Stand with the rod perpendicular to your belt buckle and pointing at 12. Keep rod perpendicular and sweep to either 4 or 8 slowly. As rod returns to 12, pick up slack line with reel.

The BCR 852 GLX is a medium extra-fast rod. I picked up this exact rod for shakey heads. From what I've heard, it's great for this technique. I'm not sure about drop-shot though.

Out of curiosity, which FMZ opens on Wednesday, June 23? Ours is still the 4th Saturday in June. Thanks! You are quite correct....my mistake! :-? I was looking at an old web page (2006 - 2007) as it came up first on my web search I took it as being current...which on closer inspection I now see it is not!!! Look before you leap and all that :-[ Last Saturday in June (26th) it is....apologies for the miss-information. :-X No worries, Quinte bass. Though, we do get an extra month this year.
