  1. i dont know but what about adding a bead then jamming up the bead with a tooth pick? since beads are cheaper than bullet wieghts i just dont like how toothpicks damage the line
  2. i actually agree but its a habit using the screw in i should switch back to using the slide weights
  3. i know u guys dont want to hear this one but the strangest thing i have ever pulled in was a womens under garment a thong to be precise out of the ohio river i cut my line not touching that lol
  4. i like them alot mostly because like u said its a good solution for pegging and sliding weights damage line quicker so u spend more time fishing and not retieing there are downfalls to them though if u are of low income on fishing tackle i wouldnt buy them they are expensive and the screw in head damages soft plastics much quicker than the slide weights
  5. yea sounds like a great day i wish i didnt have work today or i would have went trout fishing too somewhere around my house yo smallmouth i fish sometimes when there is no ice on the rivers around here i do ok on finess worms just dead sticking them in deepwater also if i want to cover alot of water i use singletail grubs like the mr twister but since u fish from shore the best option is throwing on a finess worm on a jighead and just letting it sit with a twitch everyonce and away good luckk u will need it for these time of year
  6. yea i like the strike king series 5 in grizzard shad too its one of the few crankbaits i use often i have a few in sexy shad and only ever had one good day on it
  7. o ok yea i use them on smaller rivers like raystown branch but for larger rivers the fish dont hit as well u got to work harder and fish much slower when it comes to larger rivers i like fishing around rock or rock piles with a shaky head and shaky worm u can just take a finess worm and put it on a shaky head and just let it sit on the rock
  8. haha shut up punk lol so are u fishing wills or one of the other creeks down there tomorrow?
  9. well i agree with fishn but if u have already purchased 2/0 or 3/0 buy which ever size accomdates the hook size so that u dont have to buy matching hooks for new baits just buy baits that go with the right hook that u already own
  10. hey whats up buddy im good how are you? aaa fishn gets on about twice a day just so u know are u talking about the small little craws he bought of ebay well im going to assume thats what u are talking about take a 2/0 hook and a small 1/16 or 1/8 ounce weight and trig it throw it out let it sink then just slowly bounce it off the bottom u can also just cast it out and just bounce it in one spot but that is very hard to do if u are not in a boat last u can texas rig it with no weight and let the current take it down stream use light line and a spinning rod if u are going to just drift it
  11. lol yea i like to fish them parellel to dropoffs and ledges they are ok in bolders just fish them and will will figure out how they work i will show u better techinques with them when we go to wills its hard to explain excaltly the tips on them i will show u
  12. yea same storm here no way im driving in those conditions
  13. yea few times i mostly fish shallow flatter water which isnt key sitiuation for the grub i like deep shorelines when or cliff rocks createing really deep water i use it alot like a jig i sometimes call it my river jig im actually using it throughout may im goin to be definetly using it at the poto then mostly like at the sushanna then ill probably throw it alittle on the raystown river so yea its good at times i will show u how to use it when we go to wills in june i dont know how it will work in a small creek but we will see lol
  14. yup didnt go to work since the roads are absolutly terrible
  15. o yea they are ok they catch fish i like em they are deadly for rivers like the raystown im hoping for the bass to be bitting tehm on the poto. well i like a 1/4 or 3/8 shaky or football head jighead rig it just like a extarnel jighead for a tube bury the head into all the tencles i like them alot for gravel rocks riprap and any bottom contour changes like mud to a rock bottome they are very straight forward u can either just shake em on the bottom and let the tencales shake or u can hop and bounce it alot like just a single tail grub to tell the truth it doesnt matter what company u buy from the only difference will be the scent and the durablity of it i like gary yoto. but pick which ever one u feel like. the best colors are green pumblikin, junebug and pumblkinseed ebay has a good many deals on them
  16. i use spider grubs a good bit and the only type i use are gary yamamoto skirted double twin tail or something in a varity of colors my fav is junebug heres the link to BPS online to see a pic of one http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SceneSevenDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=-58913&scene7Path=BassPro%2f80876c%3flayer%3dcomp%26wid%3d500%26hei%3d500%26fmt%3djpeg%26qlt%3d100%2c0%26op_sharpen%3d0%26resMode%3dnorm%26op_usm%3d1.0%2c1.0%2c0.0%2c0&sourceName=images2%2f80500%2f80876c.jpg&type=0&linkEnabled=false
  17. where are the roots in wills? i know that there are some fallen trees below the pit but other than that i dont know of any real timber in the creek. of course i only fished it once lol i was just curious i would like to fish some of the roots in wills because the rivers i fsih root systems definetly produce big hawg smallies
  18. yea sounds good i will go with u just tell me when u want to go roots hmm i dont remember fishing roots alot on creeks but minnows should work on the rivers i fish i look for a deeper shoreline and BIG trees right beside the river usally the roots are under the water and u cant see them i will use craws and beaver baits around them on a really light weight trig these trees dont only offer the roots but also offer shade from the tree branches
  19. o ok cool it takes me about 15 minutes to johnstown then another 15 minutes to mcnaley bridge then about 10 minutes from there to the lake so about 40 minutes if u ever want to go i can get off in richland and take scalp down to windber and pick u up it only takes about 5 or 10 more minutes no problem plus u can show me where do u on that creek
  20. man i would like to see that website too the polymor and clinch knot are my favorites but that would be a cool website to look at
  21. lol yea no problem just holla if u need any more info yea good luck to u too even though the bite isnt for a few more months
  22. there is only one way to rig it for heavy cover pegg weight texas rig i rarely trig tubes but for cover u have no choice make sure when that bass hits it make sure they have the entire thing in their mouth to get a good set make sure u are using heavy braid or fluoro with a heavy rod and reel
  23. hmm wow good one aaaa if i could only use one lure for the rest of my life i probably would quit fishing but it would have to be the tube zoom finesse tube to be specific in junebug to be more specific
  24. it really doesnt matter i just go grab some of the bullet weights in the size im looking for i do like tru-tungsten but its more expensive and harder to find so dont even worry about that just worry about the size of the weight
