  1. hmm im not sure about all those town names and creeks but i was wondering if that is the creek on the left side of the road after u get off 219 and u have to make that right to go to the dam is that stoneycreek there on the left? with the black old train bridge crossing it? i seen people fishing it but never thought anything of it hmm maybe i will have to go on a scouting trip some time
  2. yes u are right anglers use the ds for vertical jigging and cr for casting i like heavier weights just because u can fish alittle faster with them but when the fish are really finicy i will use a lighter weight and fish much slower normally a 1/4 ounce then a 1/8 or 3/16 ounce weight for a slower bite now leader length all depends on how far up the bass are suspended go about 6 inches longer then where the fish are so if a fish is 2 foot of the bottom use a 30inch leader i like longer leaders definety just drag it if u try bounceing the rig the weight is just bouncing up and down and the actual lure isnt moving much and a bouncing weight could possibly scare fish
  3. ight i have an entire tackle box full of just jig heads alright for tubes i use a 1/4 ounce internal tube jighead for shakey head worms i use a 3/8 ounce ball jighead then for other baits like beavers and bottom bouncers and craws i use a 1/8 ounce jighead i mix them up though depending on depth and the amount of current just experiment and u will find what works best for u
  4. lol yea i use poppers once and a while and very rarely fish for smallies with cranks well yea hope u catch them
  5. summer mostly poppers use around shallow cover cranks in more open water during the prespawn in spring cranks work well also post spawn when bass turn on fry they hit darker looking cranks im no great expert on hard baits though
  6. lol yea i know i just lke covering as much water as possible ill probably fish the water right at the junita trading post im not sure its not for a few months o yea i was talkin to people at work about stoneycreek i thought stoneycreek was a dirty sulfur AMD creek. i might be wrong but it is the creek that dumps into the conomaugh in johnstown right? is it fishable? he said that there are alot of bass that has to moved into the creek idk i was thinking he was throwing out a bunch of bull but i dont know
  7. lol yea i wasnt sure what he was asking me about i didnt even realize that he was talking about u im not even sure i gave him the information that he was looking for lol i gave him a bunch of info on fishing feeder creek eddies on rivers lol o well at least he has abunch of info on something right?? well im thinking about where to go on the river at i would go to the trussel if it was just me but im not sure if there is any other holes around it to fish after we fish the trussell got any ideas?
  8. i use a crawfish smell attraction well i dont spray it i take a medicine needle and fill it with the attraction then take a soft bait and inject the attractant into the body of the bait it seems to work pretty good
  9. o ok well im goin to park right there at the bridge then i fish all over mostly around tatesville bridge just upstream from those ledges u like to fish
  10. nice pics nice size brownie and great pic of that native brookie
  11. yea use rattlin cranks and ratl traps and even buzzbaits to locate fish once u locate the fish slow down and use a worm a worm is killer for post rainy days
  12. really lol well i need to find a spot i dont want to get down there and drive around cause then my buddy will think im an idiot lol how far down river from the bridge is the trussel
  13. not yet im probably just goin to be jumping from lake to lake that time of year hows the water between cyprus and the bridge i dont like the water at cyprus too flat and too many camps i was actually thinking about parking at the bridge and then fishing downstream

  15. yea but clear water is not always good in erie the clarity can get to 30 feet which means there is not enough plankton and other small organisms in the water for the bait fish to eat and the mussels are reproducing way too fast!!! for the great lakes anything more than 8 foot visiblity is threating to say the less
  16. i use jigs alot and my 3 favs are the mop jig the booyah jig and bitsy bug jigs the mop jig is the biggest and has the largest profile and very strong weedguard i like it for flipping laydowns and heavy vegation the booyah jig is about normal size i like it for fishing deeper around rockpiles ledges and points the bitsy bug are cheap, has a thinner profile which i like for skippin under docks those are my three go to jigs there are a few others that i use for certain sitiutions though too but to start off try these 3
  17. when im new to an area and looking for a good spot i usally look for something different for example if there is alot of grass in a lake im looking for a dock or laydown if there is alot of docks i look for pontoon boats or laydowns if there is alot of points and bottom contour i look for weeds or even rock piles on the points i usally fish deep ledges and points though hope i helped
  18. i have some for worms and senkos not 100% sure where i got them from or what they are called i rarely use them i think they are made by northland and im pretty sure i got them from either walmart of Gander MT
  19. hmmm good question i would say 30s for a good day even though there are days i get them in upper 80s im fine with catching 30 in a day thats on rivers and that for smallies you seem like the type to fish huge bodies of water for largemouth
  20. yea i like the mop jig i fish alot of jigs mostly booyah and bitsy bug booyah out deep, bitsy bug for skipping docks and then the mop jig for fishing heavy timber, and pretty much any visible structure shallow they work great for really small creek channels and ditches as well any jig will work for small creek channels and ditches but the mop will pull out some nice bass
  21. yea they are great!!!!!! i dont have one but a buddy of mine does and i used it when we went fishing together wow i really like it just cant afford one if u want a good tournament or good quality reel that u wouldnt mind spend a few bucks on yea definetly get one
