Water Temp 68-where to fish?
Right now the water temp is 66-68 degrees from 6 AM till around noon when I leave.Where should I concentrate my efforts?Should the fish be in backs of creeks and coves or should I go deeper? This is ultra clear water with loads of vegetation in the shallows.Last time I went caught fish on rip-rapped dam.5-7 feet falling off into 14-16 ft of water.Fished the shallows early with only one dink caught. The sun hadn't started warming shallows yet.Moved to rip-rap mid morning and caught majority of fish(only 4).Should I start later and fish later? No luck on traditional fall baits.Caught fish on c-rigged watermelon-red 3x lizard.Any suggestions welcomed.

In the next few years or so when I retire from coaching and teaching,I'm planning on buying Nitro with part of my payout.I've just always liked their mid sized boats.

Floor or no Floor in Jon
I put a carpeted floor in mine and it was great.Didn't hurt a thing putting a few metal screws through the ribs. You ought to buy a cheap, used trailer and you could really customize.

How many #s?
Yeah, with a boat that big,get as much as you can afford.I use a Minn Kota, but Motor Guide is just as good. They're both fine motors.

Although I don't have that problem often down here in the land of the oven hot sun, when I do I use the fingerless gloves/mittens.They are warm.

registration qustion
Here in MS,I bought a 14 ft. jon years ago.when I went to register,I couldn't even find a serial number on it(It was a very old boat). It was no problem they just issued me one.I don't know about SC,but I dought they'll get too worked up over a used jon boat.I wrote a note explaining my situation and they never even talked to me.Just sent me my registration card.I'd tell the game and fish officials just what you told us.

little boat big ideas
With a boat that small,I'd just add plywood floors with carpet instead of a casting deck.Put you in a couple of good ,comfortable seats and a FC trolling motor and you're in business.

Recreational angler willing to promote
First of all,I'm not a pro looking for sponsers.I'm a 26 year coach and teacher with hundreds of contacts in South MS.I'm a former All-American football player and successful coach who is well known in bassin' circles down here.I know and have influence with hundreds of people in this area.I'm known as a very good bass angler whose attitudes about various bassin' products is worth listening to.I don't fish tournaments that much, but I am an avid bassman that is known and respected among other bass anglers.I would gladly use and promote bassin' products in my area.If that means wearing shirts, patches, hats, and emblems on my boat and truck,I would do it.I'm not looking to become a bass pro,but I would like to be involved in the bassin' industry and use my name and contacts to help promote fishing products of all kinds.Sincerely,Eddie McCoy.

You can learn a lot from a dummy.
When I first joined this forum,I thought I was a pretty fair fisherman, and in my narrow sphere of baits and techniques I guess I was. After being exposed to so many other ways to catch a bass,I now know just how limited my knowledge was.I've learned a lot of new(for me)ways to go about catching Mr.LM.Thanks to all of you talented anglers out there who graciously shared their knowledge.

texas rigs
Who Knows?I guess you could ask what does a spinnerbait resemble.Or a buzzbait.Maybe it's just the way it moves provokes an aggressive response. We are talking a fish. Not the brightest creature in God's body of work.

Finding Bass - Bluegill Patterns??
I just got back from Walmart. Was looking in the fishing dept. and found a blue gill swim bait that looked alfully good.So good that I bought It.It was called Storm wild-eyed Bluegill(3 in.).Can't wait to try it.Three to a pack.

Finding Bass - Bluegill Patterns??
In my home lake, blue gill are a major part of the bass diet.Just like your lake, there is a huge relatively shallow flat that is thick with grass. Most times of the year,If nothing else works you can always depend on catching a few there.I have a 25 year old Rebel shallow running c-bait in a "bream" pattern that is dynamite on bass.To my knowledge,Rebel doesn't make that particular pattern anymore.I'd sure love to get my hands on a shallow c-bait with such a true "bream" look to it.

Building a deck on old bass boat
I've got an old '84 Terry bass boat. The front seat is sort of recessed down in the boat kinda like a crappie boat.I want to build a deck for several reasons:I've really been getting into flipping/pitching and it will be a whole lot easier from a deck, come spring I want to sight fish and I need to be up a little higher(actually,a lot higher),etc.I know what to do ,but thought I'd run it by you guys first.Anybody with ideas, suggestions, and even in-depth knowledge on the subject would be highly appreciated. It's a glass boat,by the way.

Dissapointing First Trip Out
Brad, sorry about the theft, but when you get back in the saddle it will be all the more satisfying. And as for the thief the karma monkey is gonna catch him 10 miles from nowhere on a lake and mess up his day.
