  1. Wow!I'm glad I asked this question. It really got a response. As i said before,I'm a rec. angler, but there is that yearning in the back of the mind that thinks of the life of a touring pro and wants to do it .Sort of like wanting to be a pro football or baseball player when you were a kid. That's when I look at my fishing ability realistically and I'm over it.
  2. Besides all of the afoementioned things,I look to see where the "regulars are fishing.I'm fishing anew lake because my home lake is closed still due to Katrina .On every trip I note where people are hanging out for a while .Later I'll check out these spots with a sonar unit to see why they're there,Caught 6 this morning all in the 2-3 lb. range.
  3. Happy for ya.Been there!
  4. I use all kinds of scents, but Anise oil based scents work best for me(especially on soft plastics).
  5. when the pressure is falling fishing picks up.
  6. Who is your favorite fishing partner or partners?I have more than one.My youngest son,Jamie, who is 14 and caught an 8lb. and a 9 lb. this spring is my favorite. Also my wife who caught a 7 lb bass this spring is also one of my favorites(she takes all of those neat fishing photos).
  7. Way to go!Can't wait to get some schooling action here.Haven't seen any yet.

  10. The 3x lizard is perfect for my c-rig fishing. There's a lot of submerged grass even in the deeper water on my home lake. The 3x lizard floats above the vegetation.
  11. GO Bassresource team.Kick some butt. Then kick some Moore (pun intended) butt!
  12. Although I've fished a few local bass tournaments over the years,I consider myself a recreational fisherman.I fish solely for the fun of it 99.9% of the time. What do you consider yourslf as a fisherman, mostly a Tournament angler or a recreational fisherman?
  13. I've also caught crappie on c-baits and plastic worms, catfish on spinnerbaits, pickeral on just about every lure known to man, grennel on plastic worms, gaspergou on spinnerbaits(that's a cajun name for 'em;weird looking fish),bream on c-baits and floating Rapalas, bass on bream popping bugs,etc.,etc.,etc.
  14. I not only like the color, but I really like the 3x brand .Especially anything that can be used on a c-rig.
  15. Our Bass Pro Shops opens in November. Can't wait to blow mt paycheck there!I've been telling y'all about those Rogues,
  16. As soon as I feel the fish,I reel in slack and set the hook quickly. If I don't feel the fish but see the line jump or swim off,I do the same thing.
  17. It's a quiet approach to skiddish bass that have positioned themselves tight to cover for a variety of reasons(cold fronts, fishing pressure).
  18. The biggest I caught this year was a 7lb.3oz LM on a Strike King White Tandum Willowleaf blade spinnerbait. My 14 yearold son caught an 8 lb. and a 9 lb. LM on a Chartruse tandum willowleaf blade spinnerbait and a Gold-black w/orange Rattlinrogue Floater.
  19. Hummingbird makes a neat,portable unit.Bought one when I had a j-boat rig.It showed bottom depths and breaks well.Also,it has a water temp feature,fish alarm,zoom,etc.I really liked it.Got it at Walmart for around $100.They have a comparable unit at Bassproshops.com for $119.99.
  20. If you want to spend two grand, buy the Yamaha 25 HP in 2 stroke with the tiller handle. You will be more than happy. It will haul butt.
  21. There's nothing wrong with keeping some to eat.I did for years.I'm totally catch and release for the last 5 years because, for me,it's a sport and not an eating proposition.Whatever floats your boat!
  22. Bassresource.com?It's like coming home.
  23. YBM,I saw that .I remember Byron V. making a comment about it not being your biggest bass, but the biggest in a competition.Way to go!You should be proud of yourself.
  24. Time on water;recognizing weaknesses and turning them into strengths;understanding seasonal patterns as a starting point to your fishing schemes.
