The Other Brown Fish
The goby is what is making those smallies so massive, but hard to catch sometimes.

The Other Brown Fish
Two more today, fished from 11 to 2:30. Both 24" cookie cutters.

The Other Brown Fish
Jeff November is the best for creek action for browns. April for steelhead. Dwight, Casting horizontal baits in shallow open water is my favorite way to catch them. I've had to chase a few on the trolling motor to keep from spooling. They will also take tubes that imitate gobies, especially in springtime when the gobies spawn shallow. The browns ate really keyed into gobies then.

The Other Brown Fish
You should come up here. My PB brown is 22 lbs. Alteady, I've lost two fish that might have challenged that. The state record is 34 lbs. and caught about an hour from my house.

St.croix Teaser Users
Same as above, but I have a Zillion on mine. One of my favorites.

The Other Brown Fish
Hit the creeks today with an old friend, Eric. Eric owns a flyrod and reel company, so it was fly guy vs. pinner. Pinner wins - I caught a decent 'bow and two brownies. An UGLY 28" fish, close to 9 lbs. A beautifully colored buck with a full kype. Total spawning colors already: The release: Was back at the family's restaurant for cheeseburgers off the char at noon. Good day!

I Quit!
I'm at a year without. I'm so fat now I don't feel any better, lol. But I eat well.

Better Rod Or Reel
Better rod 90% of the time. However, even a halfway decent reel can cost much more than a great rod.

Welcome to the Darkside.

Last November Smallie
That's tough to fish in. I had the same conditions over here. You should check my video report, lol.

Bearing Replace
The stainless kit from Dawn will be fine. Pick up a bottle of Oust while you're at it.

Massachusetts Goes Lead Free Jan 1, 2012
It's pretty clear: That sucks. Keitech makes nice tungsten jigheads. They will cost you though.

Tackle Backpacks
I like the small chest packs, though some complain they get in the way.

How To Take Photos Of Yourself With Fish
Chris, you can find better than OEM batteries from Sterlingtek for SUPER CHEAP: http://sterlingtek.com/?gclid=COGqx-KnvqwCFQoaQgod4kq-JA I vouch for them, as I've been using them in my SLRs and compact Elphs since 2006. OEM batts seem to last about a year of heavy use. The replacements have a greater capacity, charge faster, and some of mine are pushing five years old!

Quantum Smoke Vs Lews Tournament Pro
I've only handled two Smoke reels, a 100 and 150. They both had issues out of the box. They had to be sent back to Quantum for replacement. Since the Lew's is essentially part of the Pure Fishing group that makes some proven models - Floogers, Revos, etc., I'd go that route, if it's down to those two brands. My own personal preference would be for a Daiwa in a similar price range.

Worst Human Snagging
I had a fish hooked on a High Power Herring. The fish came to the surface and did the dreaded head shake routine. Meanwhile, I was putting the screws to the fish. The bait came free, flying at me and brushed my leg. I thought to myself that I was lucky, but when I looked down, two Owner ST-41 Cutting Point trebles had buried into my calf beyond the barb. Luckily the tissue was soft enough and relatively pain free to pop out with pliers. It made that pop noise that it makes when you dehook a fish, LOL.

Last November Smallie
Beautious!

Worst Human Snagging
It's my friend Jim's hand. It was stuck in some water willow, and he yanked on it. 1.5 oz. tungsten did the rest. He lived to fish again, LOL.

Worst Human Snagging
Janitor at the hospital, LOL. None of the surgeons were strong enough.

Project Phase One
Hopefully you can find a nice looking satchel that matches to carry your lures. But really, nice rig. Get it now, when you get a boat, there's no money left for nice gear.
