  1. Or you could tie drop shot rig, with a longer drop line, like 3-4'. Toss out, open bail, let sink, close the bail, and take up the slack. Then lower your rod tip, and let the senko fall naturally, for the last few feet.
  2. Congrats! Sharp boat with tons of nice little touches.
  3. But they sure are fun to catch.... Dumb northern ate a 5" Kietech Swing Impact Fat. I thought I had a good bass on, until it took 40 yards of drag and sent me to the back deck to finish the fight.
  4. Get a drybag: http://www.surftosummit.com/dry-bag-small-black-p-1725.html?cPath=199_202&osCsid=hhu6g0125ahobjkk72b7ubbtg4
  5. Is the bottom flat on the recessed line tie jig?
  6. Next time, buy her flowers, and earplugs for yourself.
  7. Actually, his deadpan delivery is what makes this video so flipping hilarious.
  8. Buy $50 worth, and get another $10 off with a coupon!
  9. Alright, this is done.
  10. Fair enough, I love that he spent time with his dad. Can we then agree that BassClary's photographic skills stink? He turned a 13 lb. fish into a 100 lb. headache. For the record, I don't think he intentionally lied. I think parralex and a flopping fish may have skewed the reading. It's a big one, and worth being excited about. One question tyrius: this thread has been dead since yesterday afternoon. Why add to the controversy?
  11. You have to admit, its tall claim, and being three pounds over the record, pretty astonishing. Here's talking about a fish that is merely 2 lbs. less than this fish:
  12. You wouldn't see Big O or any of his pro staffers posting negatively about Northstar would you?
  13. Don Barone's recent editorial: http://www.bassresource.com/fish-fishing/bass-fishing-money
  14. Yep, you can't help anyone until you're all set.
  15. Texas Rig either Rage Craw, Space Monkey, or Anaconda. There's tips on rigging each product after you click on it: http://www.ragetail.com/
  16. I was going to recommend the parasite clips as well. I don't use them much, but when I do, they work. I'm not a fan of internal tube weights. I think it changes the appeal of the hollow tube, and I don't feel very confident with al that metal in the way of the hookset. Many use them, so that might be unfounded, but it's easy to blame failure on what you don't feel good about.
  17. What are the issues first?
  18. See the FAQ: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules
  19. Use a toothpick cross wise through the bait, just inside the bend of the hook. I have caught at least 20 fish on the same Swing Impact, which are notoriously delicate baits. Keep some Mend-It handy for other tears.
  20. You're assuming my post was directed at only you. That would be wrong.
  21. Used to love throwing these off the dock at night when I was a kid. I wish I still had some of those old baits.
  22. I'm on a 1st name basis with our local ECON and DEP officers. Their numbers are dwindling due to cutbacks, so they rely on responsible sportsmen to be the eyes and ears in the field. I have had a run in with one young guy, new to the job, in Pulaski, NY. Here's a picture: The kid never took his hand off his gun, and was giving us a hard time about keeping more than our limit of trout. Uhhh, there four of us, and two fish....can't you count? BTW, the big guy is my friend Burnie, and he's the conservation/PR director for the NY BASS Chapter Fed. I think he's telling the kid, "I fished right next to you last week, don't you remember?" He's also dialing another ECON officer's cell right there. LMAO. We were let off with a "warning." That's my only bad experience in NY, EVER. I chalk it up to rookie ego.
  23. They're on sale for $4/pack constantly at Dick's. How much are the jigs you promote? And how many people throw real GYCB Senkos? What about lucky craft? Yeah, if you're whacking them, then chances are you can throw whatever you want. But there are days when a certain bait will out fish all others. To the off topic point about craws....the Ragetail Craw and the Paca Craw are two TOTALLY different baits. Paca Craws claws are about 100x more delicate than just about every other bait. You can't beat that hollow tube body, though, when bass are picky for that.
  24. Wow some pretty big definites here in a sport full of unknowns. One thing I've learned over the years is that whatever I think the bass think is total bologna. All you're doing is getting a few things right. The more things you do right, the more bites you get. Now, night baits? I won't discount a rattling bait, but some of my biggest night fish have come on silent baits, like big t-rigged worms, flukes, cranks (both silent and rattles) and tubes.
  25. 6" Hudds work well for me. I work them on the bottom, like a jig.
