Kill The Bass!
Trout fisherman up here are all catch and release, but the smallies they catch, those go on a rope - blows my mind. It's all about perspective.

Bps Bassmaster Northern Open - Oneida
Tune in: http://www.bassmaster.com/video/2011-northern-open-3-weigh-ins I got a few buddies in this. Pulling for Randy LaManche. He was 31 yesterday, piled in with the 13 to 15 lb. bags.

Finally Bought A Landing Net!
I know you just bought one, but I thought you should see this one: http://www.leveragelandingnet.com/ They are AWESOME! They work equally well in the kayak as in the bass boat.

Kayak Transducer?
You want to use either GOOP! or Lexell to glue it in. I haven't heard how those putty installs are holding up. I have a buddy that does the "wet mount" with the cup and water...works, but it seems like more trouble than it's worth.

Kill The Bass!
The ADKs have several highly managed/controlled lakes. Brook trout are a rapidly disappearing species, often easily displaced by non endemic species. It's just a single lake management thing. There are other lakes in the park that are totally bass friendly. Upper Saranac,Black Lake, Cranberry, Raquette, Butterfield, etc. are a few good bass lakes.

Ode To The Texas Rigged Worm
Jim, good point. It's also just as simple as durability. A $10 crankbait can catch 100's of fish. A 10 pack of Culprit worms, maybe a dozen or more. People that use them, go through them.

Kayak Transducer?
B-dozer, you are going to have to learn to accept some topic drift. This is a fishing forum, not a police investigation. Not only did I address the OP's question, I also addressed your criticism of the device Glenn linked. Any questions? And most posts that start out "not to be a ...," "no offense, but....," "not sound like a jerk, but...," almost ALWAYS come off sounding like that anyway.

Kayak Transducer?
Yes, he said it once, and you've said it twice. That's why I posted links to SIT IN installations. Most guys regret the swing arm install. It gets in the way.

Kayak Transducer?
The scuppers on most SOT are in a recessed channel, or at least ride higher than the keel in the water. On my OK PBG, the TD sticks out a bit, and has been scratched up pretty well. No issues with getting a good signal:

What Style Jig Head??
That'll work well, so long as you're not trying to punch through grass or mats. They are REALLY great around laydowns and docks. When you lift it and it hits a branch, that fat head kicks out, and gives the trailer a little dance. You often get bit after the deflection.

Poison Tail or Arkie.

What Knot Do You Use For Tying On A Flouro Leader?
Crazy Alberto...if it's good enough for stripers, then it'll work for bass. http://www.stripersonline.com/wiki/albertos-knot

Curado
Light jigs? 12# Fluoro. Trilene 100% works great. I'll only use braid in heavy weed cover. Fluoro has greater sensitivity on semi slack line that is so common when fishing jigs.

Seriously ? (Help )
It may be a no-no for the rod, but the reel should be able to take it. The drag should slip before any internal parts fail.

A Lesson Learned While Forethought Paid Off.
I use the tilt-trim to hoist the kids out of the water after a swim. Glad you were able to get it the back.
