What do you see breaking down in the Revos? These parts, specifically the clutch trip and yoke posts:

For grubs, I use a ballhead style jig. For Kreatures, I'd use a 3/0 Owner Wide gap plus or Riggn' Hook.

Sales? Who knows. They aren't very durable reels anyway (all Revos), based on what I see after a couple years use. Guys love them, and they work well though.

Wrong tool for the job. The Premier was for light baits, and light line. You want max drag, get an SX/STX.

Sub $200.

Who knows what the manu spec'd for the new reels. What I guess I'm missing here is why spend all this money to get something else? I mean, why not just buy what you wanted in the first place? There's nothing wrong with upgrading, or replacing worn parts like drag washers or bearings, but it seems like way too much ado and money for minimal gains.

What kind of reels?

What are you confused about? Stainless bearings need oil to run properly. Spin drying bearings isn't really the best for them. All it does is heat them up too quickly, and sometimes they seize.

Some people call it a kaiser rig, mmmmm-hmmmm. ;D Most guys I know using simply call it wacky jig.

The Premeir's aluminum gearing cannot handle the higher drag force that the S/SX/STX can. You trade drag power for weight on that type of reel. You could add a Carbontex washer to the mix, but you'll still have to be careful with max drag power.

Bags blow around. A Plano box is more efficient in tournament situations. My most used plastics go in a Plano box. For instance, all my trailers are in the same box with the jigs. Another option is the 3780 deep Plano box. You can store a ton of bags in that box. No, there's no issue with most baits. Gulp, Food Source, and a few others would be the exception.

I don't care if its some disgusting concoction made up in a lab, or a cute furry little critter....if it tastes good, down the hatch. My only criteria, no ham, fungus, or okra.

Secret Weapon Lures and other "short arm" baits don't stay in place well. Most every other brand works fine.

You should probably oil them.

Not really sure why that would be necessary. Unless you plan on making 200yd casts the smaller reel would do just fine for 1-2oz swimbaits. To each his own. Toro is a better reel pound for pound after all 200 yards of what, 10# line? I use 25# CXX for swimbaits. As far as getting distance on any of the baits, that's about the rod.

Sounds like a bowfin recipe. Where you fishing?

Is the drag giving you trouble?

Save up for the right stuff. You're wasting $$$ that could be spent on GOOD swimbaits, or other tackle. Unless you need a deep diver reel, pass on the little winch until you can get the big one.
