  1. I fish my baits at depths where bass are actively feeding.
  2. I've brought them all the way to the boat on a hookless crankbait. You just have to be a bit gentler with them.
  3. Yellow perch, white perch, alewife, gobies, crawfish, leeches.
  4. @Crestliner2008 Good to hear back from you!
  5. I can't imagine permanently mounting a break my window sign in my truck. Use your smart phone. They make cheap dash mounts.
  6. Get well soon, buddy!
  7. That boat is WAY cool!
  8. My dad used spinning exclusively, and loved pike fishing. He had a DAM Quick 5000 size reel, and used 12# mono. Rod was a 7-6 MH Garcia rod. Caught 'em fine.
  9. Next time try being born with webbed toes!
  10. You'll get a range of opinions on this. The trailer I use is a trailer hook.
  11. Each kid has their own personality, too. My oldest was all business on the water. My youngest was a delinquent. He took a little longer to learn to follow the rules.
  12. This is highly variable based on how much weight is in the boat. This includes people, gear, motor, batteries, etc.
  13. Your daughter should be fine, with some guidance. You're probably the best judge of what your son can handle. My nephew is very high functioning, holds a job, and can drive a car, and has been fine in a boat since he was 5-6 years old. My niece, not so much, though I depending on her mood, it might be a go. Never tried. Obviously your youngest daughter would need constant supervision. I had a rule: no kids on the decks without an adult. As always when taking kids, keep it short, expect to get zero fishing in, and make it fun. They probably only want to go on a boat ride, and see some nature.
  14. Back in the 90s, I had a trailer wrecked at the launch while I was fishing. No note, nothing. Just a totaled trailer. Luckily, this was on the same lake my cottage was on, so I had to take the boat back to the dock, and walk a a couple miles to the truck and trailer. Never found out who did it.
  15. Good to hear from you. Nice fish!
  16. Navionics card is an upgrade to the base maps.
  17. Try the Navionics site: https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#boating@12&key=wsnxErqygS
  18. Read the article linked above. 18 people that work Collierville, TN.
  19. I'm a Humminbird user, but I'll try to answer some of these. That is the inland version. There's a coastal version as well, I think. Not alone, the options are dizzying. My must haves: GPS/Mapping and traditional sonar. DI/SI are nice to have, but you usually get at least DI when you add mapping. You can adjust the offset for high/low water conditions in the unit's settings. The X-models have no mapping features. I use a small 7ah battery, and it lasts fine for 10 hour trips using either my 5 or 7 GPS/DI/SI units. I imagine Lowrance would be similar. I use my 5 on my kayak more than the 7. Mapping, like said is an absolute must have. I drop way points for every fish I catch, any spots I want to mark, any submerged structure, etc. Once you fish an area a lot, those way points can start to tell a story.
  20. Manufactured by Abu, sold in the US by Zebco. Pretty much bullet proof.
  21. Just in time for the holidays. Sucks for those 18 people.
  22. At the top of every page is a list of quick links. The third from left is Fishing Forums. Hover over that, last link is Flea Market. That place gets a ton of traffic from would be buyers.
  23. Buy some of these. 1001 uses. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/QQUAAMXQ0pNRv9~R/s-l300.jpg
