  1. Feelfree makes a nice boat.
  2. I think for two people, get jon boat or a semi-v. We fished three out of 14' semi-v rentals all the time before we all got boats.
  3. I have not had blockbuster results with it. It catches, just not like I hear about on here all the time.
  4. Any hard bait that comes with a split ring usually gets a Duo-Loc snap. I remove the split ring. I keep a pretty big supply of #2 and #3 snaps on hand, and many of my baits already have on on them. Some baits, like spoons, I add swivel to the split ring you tie to. I usually tie direct to the swivel, but if I'm switching baits frequently, I'll use a snap. I've never had an issue, and I seem to catch them, so I don't think the fish care. I've only ever notice a snap open once, and I'm pretty sure I didn't clasp it correctly. I never use snap swivels.
  5. Most I've seen don't sit well in the water with just one person.
  6. This makes me sad! There's some up on Amazon. Might have to make a bulk purchase.
  7. You know I relate to heavier weights. On Erie, even the runt bass will be up in the column with the perch. You gotta get down to the bottom to get the bigger bass. That's a good point for using heavier weights that I forget. Nice job!
  8. I would search using categories: Boats > Bass Fishing Boats, then check Aluminum under hull material. That will give you a really good selection of boats that would work well for you and your boys.
  9. I've had enough fail that I cannot trust them anymore.
  10. They should be almost done. Waiting on the browns.
  11. Jig box is $30. Price and quality is on par with Bass Mafia. I like that you can see through the lid on the Plano Edge. Also, I'm jealous that Blue got the terminal box.
  12. The bullet sinkers I get are cupped on the bottom. I never really thought about it, since I usually run my bullets free, not pegged, and it's not usually in contact with the bait on the fall.
  13. That has a nice patina.
  14. What kind of fishing and where? Two are all cuddy cabins, the other a tour boat, not what I'd call a fishing boat.
  15. I dig the hat.
  16. Hello from the other side of the lake.
  17. They stock gambusia for mosquito control: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosquitofish
  18. Quick question - I oil them after each use. Should I do it before too?
  19. I have two nail guns, brad gun, staple gun and a compressor too, but I'm not doing all that when I just need to tap a proud nail in on something. I threw out three $7 hammers that bent when trying to pry a nail. The Estwing was $20.
  20. We call tandem kayaks "divorce boats" for a reason.
  21. Someone said all pros horse the fish in. These two don't, when a big fish is on the line. Luke, good to hear you like the YZ. It's really tough line, and hard to screw up a knot. If you're good dealing with that line on a casting reel, you'd do fine with all but the stiffest FC.
  22. That wasn't what I found. Long casts, small baits on light wacky jigs was what was working. Power fishing did not yield results. It's called finesse. Pretty popular mindset to put fish in the boat, and not just small ones.
